This community will have the same guidelines and rules as its original place. Remember people. This is a safe place.

The Rules of Retconned:

  • 1: No name calling, no degrading of others
  • 2: No telling people they have memory or mental problems
  • 3: Be polite and respectful towards each other
  • 4: All other theories may be discussed, in a polite and respectful manner
  • 5: No trolling.
  • 6: No bots, AI generated posts/comments
  • 7: If you disagree with others or think that their idea is absurd, you are still required to be kind to them
  • 8: Do not tell anyone that any theory they propose is wrong, stupid, or impossible. You may discuss alternate possibilities but you must be nice to people
  • 9: You must not slander other users in the forum in any way
  • 10: Do not dismiss other people's memories or experiences just because it doesn't match YOURS or you don't agree with it
  • 11: There will be no discussion of politics regardless of your leanings [Mentioning a politicians name if required for discussing an ME is fine (for example the famous Hillary name spelling change flipflop), but keep it neutral, there should be no indication of political leanings in your post please]
  • 12: Posts should be at least somewhat related to the Mandela Effect and/or perception of ones own reality. If the relationship is not understood by the mods nor explained decently in the post, your post may be removed. (However, comments on posts may wander from the subject naturally as long as they follow our other rules)

Final Note

Please be advised that this place is designed for experiencers/believers in the ME. If you seem to be posting here with the intent to consistently and exclusively deny the ME or have a history of doing so in other ME social media locations, you may be asked to leave. Contributing to this subreddit requires decorum, tact and diplomacy even in regard to ideas, theories, or MEs that you may not personally agree with.

If you come here with the sole purpose of mocking our members and/or cross-posting our threads to be mocked by others, your post will be removed without warning, you will be banned.

TL;DR - Toxic, negative behavior will get you banned here, respectfully, behave.

If you made it reading this far. Thank you for taking the time and wholeheartedly welcome to your new/returning community.

Some of you /r/Retconned vets may know/remember me as Soulsteall who used to host a Discord server for said sub.

Reddit has been compromised and it was just a matter of time to start witnessing it happening to my fav subs. Being a reddit vet (since 2008), I have seen it slowly degrade into a horrid experience. So, I would like to offer everyone including myself a clean slate for hopefully a better experience here.

**I'm looking for some trustworthy co-mod(s) who have been a decent member of Retconned for at least a year. **

I just stopped at McDonalds and ordered two orders of hash browns. I expected to get four “patties” of hash browns, but only got two. Each order has one big oval shaped chunk of hash browns.

I asked the guy about it, asked when it had changed, and he said it’s always been that way. I searched google images, and all the pictures show a single chunk to an order.

Does anyone else remember an order of hash browns being two separate pieces?

For me this changed in like the last week because the last time I got an order with two in it was a week or two ago.

Somehow every world news that's being shoved in front of everyone's face constantly, always ends up fishy. There always seems to be something that's being fished up that creates even more controversy and endless discussions.

So, what do you think of this piece of info?

"For those of you just tuning in: Cosmic afuckery is afoot and the ones behind the deception are the same ones that've driven our society for thousands of years. Our religions are their religions. Our art is their art. Our media is their media and our science is their science. Technology is not being invented but slowly introduced as it best suits their needs. The internet is no exception.

Why are we all on reddit? Do you think the "Digg 2.0 migration" was an accident? That a successful web company would shoot itself in the foot so painfully-obviously so? What about the admins behind this site? Do you feel they live up to their promises or that they give a shit about the reddit community in general? (The only thing I've ever seen get their attention was the great reddit blackout of 2015.) Or were we all subtely herded here to consolidate where and how propaganda is seen?

I've been putzing around this site (under a dozen different accounts) for over eight years now. During that time, I've created subreddits of varying degrees of success (one of which the admins liked enough to claim credit for ), moderated a default sub, created four bots, lots of custom data services for specific subs, and a little companion playlister site. I've been around and done my time.

reddit voting is not organic.

Visit r/MandelaEffect and notice how many top-voted comments are dismissing the change. Ditto, r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix. Go suggest something outside of the desired narrative in r/conspiracy or r/news and see how quickly it's downvoted away. It's a double-edged form of control: push the undesired comments way down or hide them behind a [+] while pushing the wanted opinion to the top with a nice, big number next to it. _Oooh, look at that, 24.3k magic points! They must be so right! _

Advanced AI is at play.

And we're training it as we use their tech.

Notice how so many threads follow the same patterns of one commenter explaining why something is 'wrong' immediately followed by another commenter saying how right they are? Currently they're trying to disguise this as the work of "shills" (at least in the more political subs) but you can see this same pattern everywhere.

Some posts are targeted at individuals.

It's happened to me. Was just flipping through posts in r/all one day when I saw a title that reminded me of my ex-fiance. Opened it up and there she was, the girl who would've never let me publically post a picture of her to the internet. I spent a solid week asking myself what are the damn odds?

Why are uninteresting pics so highly-upvoted in r/pics? Why are unfunny things so highly-ranked in r/funny? Now you know, they're not there for you.

The admins are well-aware of what's going on.

I have two personal experiences here. The first was before my awakening when I was still using the account u/goata_vigoda. I'd dug deep enough into the rabbithole to know 9/11 sure-as-shit didn't happen as we're told (but not deep enough to realize I was supposed to know such things.) I had come across the (controlled opposition) group _Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth _and noticed that r/ae911truth had no mods and just a forwarding page to r/conspiratard. That dog won't hunt, monsignor, so I followed standard protocol in r/redditrequest to become a mod.

Empty sub, no mods, no content. An open-and-close case of an available sub, right? I was ignored. I don't much like being ignored, so I kept sending the moderation team of r/redditrequest a message once a week. I was polite for the first 4 or 5 messages but finally just told them that I'd be automating (botting) my future messages because why the hell not?

I was still ignored until literally immediately after my awakening. After a month of nothing, the sub was suddenly mine. I replied letting them know how obvious their timing was and abandoned the sub after removing the forwarding page.

My second example also comes directly after my awakening. The first tactic that was thrown at me was that I was a hacker. That I'd hacked radd.it, the u/radd_it account, and that I was just pretending to be the same person. After _demon_strating which bots were mine, three out of four of them were banned within minutes. Poof, account suspended, all gone.

I laughed a good laugh because once again the timing was painfully-obvious and one of those bots (u/raddit-bot) was the only thing keeping r/Music from being a constant repeated loop of top 40 artists among many other little tasks. They also took out u/BotWatchman whose sole purpose was to remove all the noise from the unhelpful bots that plague this site. It was used in about a dozen default and 200 other subs when it was banned making it one of the more popular mod-bots. (And a quick shoutout to u/flair_your_post_bot for the sake of completeness. We remember you, fallen bots!)

But the shining bit of light? u/PlaylisterBot survived and I can't help but ask myself why? The only thing that separates that bot from my other three is that it was once explicitly discussed with and approved by an admin. I can only assume there are some sort of "cosmic rules" at play here-- and the enemy lives by its rules. Somehow this little exception has to be related to why some of them cannot directly answer 'yes' to "are completely human?"

The rest of the internet is no different.

Please allow me to quote Katye West for the first and last time: Google is lying to you. Facebook is lying to you. CNN is lying to you. This is their technology and it was given to us for a reason."

Does anyone remember this user? He had a lot of interesting topics he talked about. I haven't seen him active since 2 years ago which is a bummer.

Image related, but I can't find a straight source of it.

"Let me start this by saying I only first learned about the Mandela effect a few weeks ago. I have always been a skeptic at heart when it comes to conspiracies, but the Fruit of the Loom ME is one that really resonated with me based on my past experiences and the overwhelming amount of pop-culture and newspaper residue. Ever since I learned about ME's, it has somewhat consumed my life. In an effort to get more clarity on what's going on, I decided to do a little investigative work and contact the people behind the residue.

One piece of residue you may be aware of is the Flute of the Loom album by Frank Wess. I learned that the artist behind this album cover was a man named Ellis Chappel. He still has a studio website so I decided I would fill out his website form and see what he had to say.

Here is what I sent him:

Hi,

Are you the person who painted the album artwork for Flute of the Loom?

Would it be alright if we asked you a couple questions about your inspiration for the design?

Thank you,(name redacted)

I received a reply the next day from Reed Chappel (Ellis's son):

Hi (redacted) -

This is Reed, Ellis's son, responding for my dad here.
I remember the cornucopia specifically, as does my dad. This is the second time we've been contacted about this album cover and Ellis (and I) are more than happy to answer any questions you have about it.

I was a little kid when Ellis painted the Flute of the Loom cover and I remember specifically this album being a reference to the cornucopia in Fruit of the Loom's original logo, which is where my dad says he specifically got the inspiration for the design (when I talked to him about it he said, "Why the hell else would I have used a cornucopia?").

The food coming out of the flute is soul food, actually, a ham hock, cabbage, black-eyed peas, etc.

I remember when (in my mind) Fruit of the Loom quit using a cornucopia in their logo and switched to just using fruit by itself.   It impressed me because I thought the logo looked better with a cornucopia in it.

In my memories this was roughly around 1978 when I was in second grade. So, anyway, feel free to ask away.

Thanks a lot!

Reed and Ellis Chappell

It wasn't immediately clear to me from his response that he was aware of the Mandela Effect, so I sent him the following reply (although I realized after the fact that he was aware because he changed the subject line in the reply to me to read "Mandela Effect (response to inquiry)"

Hi Reed,

Thank you so much for sharing. I really appreciate it.

In case you aren't aware, the reason people have reached out about this particular album cover is due to a phenomenon called the Mandela Effect.

A very large number of people remember the fruit of the loom logo with the cornucopia quite vividly. It sounds like you do too. But you may be surprised to learn that the Cornucopia has NEVER existed in the history of the company. If this is the first you have heard of this I'm sure you don't believe me, but I would encourage you to look online and review the logo history of the company. The only cornucopia you will find will be an artist rendition of what some of us remember.

Would you mind if I share the email you sent me with some people online? I think others would be very interested in it.

Thanks,

(redacted)

Unfortunately he has not replied, and I have grown impatient waiting for his permission to post this so I decided to post it anyways. Make of it what you want, but I found it fascinating to hear a first hand account from a residue creator. I also found it odd that Reed remembers the cornucopia going away in the 70's because I was born in 1991 and remember the cornucopia on my clothing.

Feel free to post questions you have for him and if he ever does reply I will send them his way. Maybe we can even get him on here for a Mandela Effect AMA. I may try to contact Ant Bully and Southpark next, but I think it will be harder to track someone down for those pieces of residue.

Edit: album cover for people not aware.

Edit 2: This is the only thing I can think of that could serve as some sort of proof. It is our zoomed out email conversation with my information covered up. I started the conversation via the form on his website which you can see at the bottom of his first email.

Edit3: He replied! He said he would be happy to answer any questions we have. I'll make a post later tonight where we can compile questions to ask him."

In that way you can still reread the best posts. Let me know what you think.

But it seems that uploading images for now still gives me several error notifications. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
