Who remembers the original Land Raider Featured in the pages of the Rogue Trader Rule book?

This beast went onto inspire the iconic kit that GW went onto produce.

Progress has sort of stalled on the rest of the mob, but I thought you might like to see the first three members of my Gorkamorka boys.

I've just finished tweaking this Leman Russ proxy, inspired by the very original model released for Epic back in the 80s. It's designed to be easy to print in FDM (no supports required for printing), the one pictured was printed on a stock Ender 3.

I'm fairly happy with how this one turned out, I've a little bit of tidying up to do, but hope to have the model up on Cults3D next week.

I would just like to point out this is the genuine caption for this picture when it was published.

Some old pictures of a group of rescue servitors that I really need to get around to finishing.

Couple of ebay rescue Techmarines I've fixed up and plan to use for a 2nd ed Iron hands army.

I'll post some more pics once I have them painted up.

I recently also finished my salvaging operation on this Oldhammer Chaos Predator!

13 year old me had already added lots of weathering and war damage to the model, so I went for an even grimdarker look than usual.

I still want to add a gunner and a havoc launcher, but that will have to wait a bit.

The pages at the back of the Citadel Journal used to contain 'Dok Butcha's Klinik' where they used to suggest examples of the kinds of conversions you could make from the citadel miniature range.

I picked up these old boys in a couple of ebay lots, one was missing a set of spikes so I decided to practice my sculpting skills. One thing led to another and I decided to see if I could make them a bit more dynamic than the original sculpts. What do you guys think?

Original poses for reference:

Project Anvil - Oldhammer Revision (projectanvil.blogspot.com)

Not sure how many people here already know about this, but Project Anvil was created by one Oscar to streamline some of the 2nd edition 40k rules.

The creator abandoned the project in 2022, but there is still a lot of great information on the blog for those that want to play some "red era" 40k. There are even rules for some of the more modern units, like the Chaos Defiler and Contemptor Dreadnought.

This channel has been putting out quality, fluffy battle report videos from the 2e starter box.

I really liked how he put together his terrain pieces in an earlier video by gluing the cardstock walls to thicker foam board.

I’d like to mimic that approach and in wondering if anyone knows the dimensions of the starter terrain, or even better has a printed template to follow to make them super historically accurate.

Nice army made of Rogue Trader era models, thought y'all might like it.

Either a Rogue trader or 40k 1st edition model, it took days soaking in iso alcohol plus an hour in an ultrasonic cleaner to clean the 'kindergartener' paint job off

Metal has always been a pain to prepare for painting, still feeling the nostalgia after painting it

Been trying to complete this collection for the last few months. All 18 Orks from the original RT02 release.

I might be biased with my love of oldhammer but I think the earl RT era Orks by Kev Adams have never been beaten. They're so full of character and there was 50+ unique sculpts by 88.

Interestingly there was only 16 shown in the colour advert in WD93 for some reason. Wassock Rotbreath/Kaptin Gozeye (top left in my picture) featured in the flyer released in the same month but not in WD and Gurlak Macehand (top right) was added to the RT02 code in the feb 88 flyer even though he was sculpted at the same time.

I was told this community might appreciate this little force I've put together. The battle sisters are from Satyr Art Studio.

Finished my Ragnar modle today and thought I show him off. Although I got a bit rusty over the last few years painting wise and it's clearly not as good as some other things shown off here, I hope you like him still.

I tried to freehand 'Frostfang' onto his blade and I just couldn't get it done, my letters were waaaay too thick for it. Maybe I'll come back to him in some time and manage to do it then.
