If you behave threateningly they will attack. If you back away, they will leave you alone. I just came across a pack. They stared at me and growled. I did what I've been taught to do in a wolf encounter. Watch them closely and walk away. It worked flawlessly.

Very impressive. Any other game would have them attack independently of how you act as a player.

Let me tell you, my Henry was hungry so I picked a mushroom and ate it. Did the whole tedious quest where you carry this fucker around looking for landmarks. When that was done it was time to look for his horse. My health has been degrading stealthily and I was almost dead by now. I cannot fast travel away or create antidote. I have to reload a save from like 2 hours earlier because of this tedious quest hahaha, because I keep dying.
