Introduction to the Show

  • George Galloway opens the show with a New Year's greeting, emphasizing optimism and determination for the year 2025.
  • He invites viewers to join the debate, highlighting the show as a unique educational platform.

Recent Terrorist Attack in New Orleans

  • Galloway discusses a horrific terrorist attack that occurred at 3:15 a.m. on New Year's Day in New Orleans, where a former serviceman named Shamsudin Jabar killed ten revelers and wounded many others.
  • Jabar was reportedly affiliated with ISIS and carried out the attack while armed with weapons and explosives.
  • The incident raises concerns about the presence of additional conspirators in the area, as law enforcement bravely responded to the attack.

The Concept of the 'Monster'

  • Galloway draws a parallel between modern terrorism and the concept of Frankenstein's monster, suggesting that the very forces that have been supported by Western powers have turned against them.
  • He elaborates on how Western nations have historically armed and funded extremist groups, only to find that they cannot control the outcomes of their actions.
  • The speaker emphasizes that the consequences of these actions are now manifesting in violent attacks like the one in New Orleans.

Historical Context of Western Intervention

  • Galloway provides a historical overview of Western interventions in the Middle East, citing examples like the creation of the Taliban and the funding of extremist groups in Syria.
  • He criticizes the long-term implications of these interventions, arguing that they have destabilized regions and enabled the rise of extremist factions.
  • The discussion includes references to past leaders and their roles in shaping these outcomes, particularly focusing on the U.S. and its allies.

Critique of Western Policies

  • Galloway criticizes the hypocrisy of Western nations that support extremist groups while simultaneously being targets of their violence.
  • He argues that the current geopolitical landscape is a direct result of decades of misguided foreign policy decisions.
  • The speaker emphasizes the need for a reevaluation of these policies to prevent further violence and instability.

Call for Public Awareness and Action

  • Galloway calls on the public to demand accountability from their leaders regarding foreign policy decisions that have led to terrorism and violence.
  • He urges viewers to engage in local politics and advocate for humanitarian efforts, particularly concerning Gaza and Palestine.
  • The emphasis is on grassroots activism as a means to effect change and address the suffering caused by current conflicts.

Poll Results and Audience Engagement

  • The show features a poll asking viewers to vote for the 'Person of the Year,' with options including Donald Trump, Hassan Nasrallah, and Vladimir Putin.
  • Galloway discusses the significance of the results, noting that Putin is leading the poll, reflecting public sentiment regarding global leadership.
  • The speaker invites further participation from the audience, encouraging them to share their views on the matter.

Conclusion and Future Outlook

  • Galloway concludes the show by reiterating the importance of public engagement in political discourse and the need for accountability in leadership.
  • He expresses hope for the new year, emphasizing the role of informed citizens in shaping a better future.
  • The show ends with a call for viewers to continue the conversation and remain active in their communities.

Generated Summary of Video Below:

Introduction to the Discussion

  • The speaker reflects on a past interaction with former British Prime Minister David Cameron regarding Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein, highlighting the theme of losing control over one's creations.
  • This serves as an allegory for the current state of terrorism, particularly referencing a recent attack in New Orleans by an individual named Shamsudin Jabar, who was affiliated with ISIS.

The New Orleans Attack

  • On New Year's morning, Shamsudin Jabar, a former US serviceman, carried out a shooting that resulted in ten deaths and numerous injuries.
  • He was armed with an IED and opened fire on law enforcement before being subdued, but the presence of additional conspirators is noted, suggesting a larger threat in the area.

The Nature of Terrorism

  • The speaker emphasizes that terrorism cannot be controlled and compares it to Frankenstein's monster, which ultimately turns against its creator.
  • He argues that Western powers have historically underestimated the consequences of their actions in the Middle East, having armed and supported groups that have now turned into threats.

Historical Context of Western Involvement

  • The speaker discusses the origins of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, suggesting that its creation was aimed at undermining Arab unity and destabilizing leaders like Gamal Abdel Nasser.
  • He further explains that the U.S. involvement in Afghanistan led to the rise of the Taliban, which was initially supported as a counter to Soviet influence.

Consequences of Western Policies

  • The speaker asserts that the U.S. and its allies have repeatedly engaged with extremist groups, leading to the current instability in regions like Syria.
  • He highlights that the control of significant cultural and religious sites in Syria by ISIS and Al-Qaeda is a direct result of these policies.

The Misguided Strategy of Western Leaders

  • Western leaders believed they could manipulate extremist groups to achieve political goals, such as destabilizing the Syrian regime, but this strategy has backfired.
  • The speaker warns that these groups have global ambitions and do not respect national borders, posing a threat beyond the Middle East.

The Personal Impact and Call to Action

  • The speaker expresses a personal connection to New Orleans, lamenting the recent violence and questioning how the American public can cope with such tragedies.
  • He urges the Western public to hold their leaders accountable for their decisions that have contributed to the rise of terrorism and to demand a change in policy.

Conclusion and Future Considerations

  • The speaker concludes with a warning about the potential consequences of military action against terrorist groups, likening it to disturbing a hornet's nest.
  • He emphasizes the importance of being cautious about the outcomes of political and military decisions, suggesting that they may lead to unintended and dangerous results.

Elon Musk’s X has been ordered to pay George Galloway’s legal costs in a defamation lawsuit after the politician’s account was labelled an affiliate of Russia.

The High Court in Dublin ordered X to pay part of Mr Galloway’s fees and ordered both sides to submit statements to the court by the end of January.

Mr Galloway, who presented shows on the state-backed broadcasters RT and Sputnik, was labelled as “Russian state-affiliated media” in 2022 after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

He subsequently sued Twitter for defamation, saying its “unjust labelling of honestly held political views is the new McCarthyism”. He said the label was damaging to his reputation and described it as “unjust and perverse”.

The lawsuit was lodged before Mr Musk paid $44bn (£35bn) to buy the social network later in the year.

Mr Musk has renamed it X and removed the Russian media labels from all accounts, although accounts for RT and other broadcasters have been blocked in the UK and EU to comply with sanctions.

X ‘belatedly’ denies Mr Galloway’s claims

After Mr Galloway sued Twitter in Ireland, where the company’s headquarters are based, it failed to issue a defence for two years, leading the former MP to file a motion forcing the company to respond.

It has belatedly denied Mr Galloway’s claims, but must pay the legal costs associated with issuing the motion.

Kevin Winters, Mr Galloway’s lawyer, confirmed the decision and said both sides had been told to submit a written affidavit by Jan 30.

“The case underscores the broader challenge for social media platforms in navigating accountability for their past actions, particularly in the context of evolving policies and leadership changes,” Mr Winters said.

RT was taken off the British airwaves after Russia’s invasion, and has been banned from YouTube.

Mr Galloway won re-election to the Commons after winning a by-election in Rochdale in February, but lost his seat to Labour in July.

His talk show is now broadcast on services such as YouTube.

X was approached for comment. Payment of the legal costs has been stayed pending the outcome of the case.

I was 1000m away when they killed Nasrallah, says Prof Seyed Marandi. If the Israelis strike again they will be outgunned. Refusing to die for Netanyahu

#SeyedMarandi #Nasrallah #Israel #Netanyahu

Key Points:

  1. Emergence of Thought Leaders: Professor Mandi’s growing influence highlights the role of intellectuals in shaping public discourse on international relations. His presence on mainstream media underscores the demand for informed perspectives.
  2. Strategic Military Responses: Iran’s calculated military actions are focused on military rather than civilian targets, showcasing a strategic shift towards intelligence gathering and precision strikes, which could change the dynamics of regional conflict.
  3. Intelligence Gathering as a Priority: The focus on understanding U.S. and Israeli military capabilities indicates Iran’s long-term strategy of preparation and deterrence, which may alter future engagements and tactics.
  4. Potential for Escalation: Mandi warns that if Israeli provocations continue, Iran’s response could escalate significantly, indicating that the region is on a precarious edge that could lead to prolonged conflict.
  5. Underestimating Opponents: The Israeli military’s historical arrogance may lead to miscalculations as they fail to appreciate the resilience and tactical capabilities of groups like Hezbollah and Iran.
  6. Global Economic Implications: An escalation in conflict, particularly involving U.S. interests, could disrupt global markets, emphasizing the interconnectedness of geopolitical stability and economic health.
  7. Call for Awareness: There is a need for Western audiences to critically assess the implications of supporting regimes engaged in aggressive tactics, which could ultimately lead to broader regional instability.

Pantygate 2, Starmer pays for the underwear. The last Waltz. Iran can hit any part of Israel. Lebanon losses. And Israel’s rusty Iron Dome

#Starmer #Pantygate #Waltz #IronDome #Israel

Key Points:

  1. Iran’s Missile Capabilities: Iran’s advancements in missile technology have shifted the balance of power in the region, demonstrating that Israel’s military superiority is increasingly challenged. This development could lead to a more aggressive Iranian stance in future conflicts.
  2. Ineffectiveness of Israeli Defense Systems: The failure of the Iron Dome to intercept a significant number of incoming missiles raises questions about Israel’s military readiness and could embolden adversaries like Iran and Hezbollah.
  3. Civilian Impact of Warfare: The high civilian casualties in ongoing conflicts highlight the brutal realities of war, particularly for vulnerable populations such as women and children, prompting discussions about humanitarian considerations in military strategies.
  4. Changing Geopolitical Alliances: The shifting dynamics in the Middle East could result in new alliances and enmities, as countries reassess their positions in light of Iran’s demonstrated military capabilities.
  5. Western Governments’ Dilemma: The U.S. and U.K. face a precarious balance between supporting Israel and avoiding entanglement in a broader conflict that could destabilize their interests in the region.
  6. Political Ramifications in the U.S.: The evolving situation in the Middle East could adversely affect the Democratic Party’s electoral prospects, particularly among Arab and Muslim communities, potentially reshaping voter dynamics in key states.
  7. America First Ideology: The U.S. commitment to Israel raises questions about the effectiveness and sincerity of the “America First” policy, as it seems to prioritize foreign entanglements over domestic interests.
