Hello!

I recently found my old Garmin 1300LMT and it still works great! The suction cup is strong as ever. I'm very impressed considering it's been in the car for years enduring heat and cold.

Obviously the maps are probably 10 years old though, so navigating isn't exactly accurate in some places.

Is there a way to update just the maps themselves?

I know the newer updates have larger files, but I really don't want to change how the navigation works or add any extra features (I find newer GPS to be very annoying with giving wrong directions or repeating a step 10x in a row).

Thank you 😃

Hey folks, I'm a proud new owner of the Edge 840 Solar (first Garmin bike computer) and I'm looking for any must-have software that goes with it.

I've installed:

  • Basecamp (Windows).
  • Garmin Express (Windows).
  • Connect IQ and Connect (phone)

Are there any others I should know about?

Any suggestions for route creation on a computer or website? I know you can import GPX files from third-party sources, but any other tools would be appreciated!

I've been considering getting a Garmin bike computer to replace my "dumb" bike computer, since the training and navigation options would be something I'd use.

But one feature I love with my current bike computer is that you can have a different profile for each bike, and it keeps a running odometer for each.

I haven't seen this explicitly listed in any of the spec sheets or even the user manuals, but I'm hoping that Garmin computers offer this feature.

Years ago I created this popular app/widget to import GPX and FIT files from your Android phone to your watch. Due to lack of time it does not yet support all of the newest devices. Here is the chance to contribute to an open source project, which you can use on your device. If you have a little spare time, please create a pull request which adds support for an unsupported device you care for.
