Basically anything goes.

What should a new player learn or do really on to get the most out of the game. I just started today. I've had brief moments with the game on the past when I was younger but never enough to say I actually know the game.

So in my quest to finish all the main Final Fantasy games, I’m down to FF3, FF5, and FF11. This week I’ve been playing the trial some to get my bearings, and while I’ve installed a few quality of life mods, I have maybe a couple of questions.

The first is that I was watching this video, and in it they mention a mod to allow the game to utilize more ram. A 4GB patch by someone named Thorny. For the life of me I can’t seem to find it. Does anyone out there know of a place it still exists?

Also, what are some of you guys’ favorites? I’m using Windower and have an alright set up now with some of, what I assume, are the staples (the map one, the one that makes you party window like FF14). But I’d like to know what the community thinks are pretty essential.

Thanks!

EDIT: Oof, I didn’t realize that the link that was mentioned in the video included the 4GB patch! I now have it all fixed up.

Announcing the July Version Update

Good day, adventurers! Fujito here.

I know this is a recurring theme lately, but just as we were experiencing heavy rains here in Japan, the weather recently did a complete 180 and switched over to scorching hot sunshine, like we were already in the height of summer. In fact, summer this year is sending temperatures soaring from the very start, but at least there's no denying that summer is upon us!

An elementary school near my house has already started up swimming classes, and I can hear the joyful cries of the students whenever I walk by. There's nothing like hearing people enjoying themselves this time of year, wherever they happen to be. I hope everyone creates many lasting memories that stay with them for a lifetime.

Let’s dive right in with a brief rundown of the July version update.

First, we have the usual Ambuscade additions. This time, the Yagudo and funguar will be returning to the battle.

Next, we are also adding an epilogue for The Voracious Resurgence. This follow-up to the story tells what happened to the Destiny Destroyers after the epic battle that served as the tale’s grand finale. This update will conclude the story of The Voracious Resurgence, but be sure to make some extra space in your inventory before you speak with each of the NPCs!

On the technical side, we are making an adjustment to the game so that you can decide when to start some missions that triggered automatically when traveling between areas in the game. For example, you can now choose to have the opening scene and other moments from "A Crystalline Prophecy"—which started playing the moment you entered Lower Jeuno—now play at a later point in time instead.

Now that the game's entire story has been made available, we wanted to take the time to address this topic so that everyone can properly enjoy it.

Going forward, we plan to continue making various changes and adjustments like this to the game, so we hope they make your life in Vana'diel even more enjoyable and relaxing.

Safe journeys!
