How will you be watching the Dallas Mavericks this season? 🏀 📺

We dusted off our old TiVo unit that's still connected to our attic antenna to be able to watch the Mavs' games this season. Having YouTube TV for almost 7 years now we had gotten used to not watching Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars regular season games. This new OTA ("Over-the-Air") broadcasting deal closely matches the deal that the Phoenix Suns and Mercury came to with a Phoenix-area affiliate.

That was all well and good until we realized that the new "KFAA" on Channel 29 would not likely be available on YouTube TV. So I switched the source to "TiVo" and mercifully it is still working! (I suppose if it hadn't worked, we would've looked into getting a Tablo DVR or somesuch to replace it and have another way to record live OTA TV.)

I never went to a game here, so I have no attachment. It is a shame that it couldn't be saved. Once (if....) Panther Island fills out, a local stadium would be a pretty cool amenity.

A member of the water district stated that this doesn't close the door on sports on Panther Island, this is specifically for the current structure.

On a picnic blanket or in a car. With reasonable privacy.

If you've never been to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, I would definitely recommend it.

This new addition is geared towards kids, but it sounds like what will be called the Baker Martin Family Garden will be a super cool place to visit once it is completed.

The garden is woven with teaching moments, enhancing the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s philosophy of nature play, Richardson said.

The garden has a solar system theme, with Earth, Venus, Mercury and Mars exhibits featuring misters to cool people off and create rainbows that children can enjoy, Richardson said.

The last planet featured in the garden is Jupiter. The area around Jupiter will include a shade structure with musical instruments and play equipment that represent galaxies.

The garden also will include more terrestrial features, such as native Texas plants, a plateau and bodies of water.

“We have gone on missions to go out and find the plants that you would see at Big Bend,” Richardson said.

I don't like beer and I don't generally eat the food at the state fair, but I might make a trip for this.

Sources say the suspect fired shots at police. Dallas police have confirmed the suspect is dead.

This looks to be self-produced and pretty amateur but it was so cool to me to see what a big influence Dallas and Dallas radio was to the rock scene in the past decades. From the start of KZEW (The Zoo), to Q102, to Freddy King's career and the Vaughn brothers qrowing up in Oak Cliff. So many famous bars and clubs that aren't around anymore featured. Every major label had an office in Dallas at the time.

That's all gone now, and radio sucks. But it used to be cool at one time.

I don't really like Grandscape so that's kind of a turn off. It looks cool for a sporting event but I'm sure tickets and concessions are $$$. I would go for a planetarium or nature show if it was reasonably priced.
