Starts at about 18:20

The Big Stuff:

  • New Subclass: Prismatic
    • Lets you combine abilities from all other subclasses. Unclear how this will actually work. Trailer shows up to 3 different subclasses being combined.
    • Build up a Light and Dark meter by doing damage with those damage types. When full you unleash a Prismatic grenade that is like a mega grenade with multiple effects.
    • Hunter Grenade is Stasis/Solar. Titan Strand/Arc. Warlock Void/Stasis.
    • Casting prismatic grenade instantly recharges your grenade and melee.
  • Exotic Class Items:
    • Allows you to combine two exotic perks from different exotics on one piece of armor. Can even pick perks from other classes' exotics.
    • Ex: Hunter cloak with Synthocepts perk.
    • They are randomly rolled.
    • The tooltip in the video shows that at least the second perk will not be active unless you're on the Prismatic subclass.
  • New Enemy Faction: The Dread
    • Tormentors
    • Subjugators - Rhulk like enemies using Strand and Stasis we saw last year.
    • Grim - Gargoyle flying unit that has a scream attack like Techeuns that suppresses and slows.
    • Husk - Fast melee unit. Drops an axion bolt like bomb on death if you kill it "the wrong way".
    • Weaver & Attendant - Strand and Stasis Psions working for the Witness. Strand one can pull you with grapple. Stasis one will shoot a freeze at you.

Other things:

  • Looks like debuffs and cooldowns might be on the right side of the screen now. Not sure if they just overflow though. Thought I saw a buff on the right too.
  • Weapon buffs are above the super meter. Exotic perks and normal perks.

Will add more or put up another post with an article if they have one

Article about all of the reissued guns coming with Into the Light.

TL;DR:

  • Guns will be available for free to everyone. You don't need to own an expansion to get say, Forbearance.
  • Some guns have random rolls for the first time while others have updated perk pools. Only Brave versions have updated pools.
  • After TFS these guns will be able to get enhanced perks.
  • New Origin Trait for all guns: Indomitability. (This article doesn't say what it does but I believe on stream they say it will recharge grenade and melee if you do one or the other.)
  • New Right column perk: Desperate Measures. NOTE: this perk is on a lot of the guns below but I don't list it because we don't know what it does.

#The Guns#

Forbearance (Vow of The Disciple):

  • Arc Wave Frame Special GL
  • It still has Ambitious Assassin/Chain Reaction.
  • I guess if you have it already I don't see a reason to grab this.
  • If you don't have it it's one of the best ad clear weapons in the game.

Succession (Deep Stone Crypt):

  • Kinetic Aggressive Sniper
  • Still has Reconstruction/Vorpal. Can also get Focused Fury and Firing Line in the second column if that's your thing
  • Again if you have this already I see no reason to chase it.

Falling Guillotine (Season of Arrivals):

  • Void Spin to Win Sword
  • Can roll w/ Repulsor Brace/Destabilizing, Chain Reaction/Surrounded, and the classic Relentless Strikes/Whirlwind Blade.
  • Other First Column standouts: Frenzy, Attrition Orbs
  • Other Second Column standouts: Eager Edge, Bait and Switch, Sword Logic
  • This is a great sword that's been left in the dust because it lacked origin traits and some newer perks. Worth a pickup for everyone.

The Recluse (Season of the Drifter):

  • Void 900 RPM SMG.
  • The GOAT returns. One of the two guns that forced the creation of sunsetting. This gun was so good there was never a reason to run anything else. I'm extremely surprised it's not back as an exotic.
  • You used to have to reach a certain rank in comp to get this gun now everyone can have it.
  • Bungie says they've toned it down but we'll see.
  • Now has random rolls.
  • First Column: Feeding Frenzy, Enlightened Action, Subsistence, Threat Detector, Repulsor Brace, Hip-Fire Grip, and Dynamic Sway Reduction.
  • Second Column: Master of Arms, Target Lock, Frenzy, Destabilizing Rounds, Surrounded, Tap the Trigger, and Desperate Measures.
  • The OG roll was Feeding Frenzy/Master of Arms which is back.
  • Repulsor Brace/Destabilizing is here
  • Subsistence w/ MoA, Frenzy, or Surrounded is going to be a PVE monster. The only downside to OG Recluse was that you had to reload it.
  • Threat Detector, Hip Fire, or DSR with MoA or Target Lock is going to rock PVP.

The Mountaintop (Season of the Forge):

  • Kinetic GL
  • The other GOAT, also responsible for sunsetting. This used to be SUCH a pain in the ass to get. I want to say you had to get like 100 GL final blows in PVP.
  • This gun had a perk that made the grenades shoot in a straight line like a rocket launcher. That perk is now intrinsic to the gun so we get two more perks on top of that.
  • Apparently you can now rocket jump with it?
  • First Column: Ambitious Assassin, Demolitionist, Lead from Gold, Auto Loading Holster, Overflow
  • Second Column: Vorpal, Adrenaline Junkie, One for All, Harmony, Recombination, Frenzy.
  • You have your pick of the litter here. I'd probably go for ALH/Harmony so you basically have a pocket missile you can whip out at any moment with +20% damage.

Hammerhead (Season of the Forge):

  • Void Adaptive Frame MG
  • The first legendary MG put in the game and it was a banger. Commemoration from DSC gets close to this one but a lot of us have fond memories of this gun.
  • Forge Weapons have the best aesthetic in D2 IMO
  • First Column: Feeding Frenzy, Destabilizing, Envious Assassin, Rampage, FTTC, Rewind Rounds
  • Second Column: Surrounded, Target Lock, Onslaught, Killing Tally, Tap the Trigger.
  • The got rid of Feeding Frenzy/Rampage so I'm probably looking for Envious Assassin or Rewind Rounds with Onslaught or Killing Tally.

Blast Furnace (Season of the Forge):

  • Kinetic Aggressive Bust PR (4-burst)
  • Another fan favorite from this season. Now rolls with barrel perks instead of scopes though.
  • First Column: Zen Moment, Keep Away, Perpetual Motion, Kinetic Tremors, Headseeker
  • Second Column: Kill Clip, Firefly, One for All, Frenzy, Rampage, Rapid Hit
  • Solid options all around. I'm interested to see how it stacks up against the newer pulse rifles.

Edge Transit (Forsaken):

  • Void Heavy GL
  • This gun is an old meme. When Forsaken came out, random rolls were put back in the game. It was "sunsetting" but no one complained because Y1 guns were so bad. This gun was the ONLY heavy weapon that dropped at the new power level with random rolls and boy did it drop. A lot.
  • First Column: Chain Reaction, Cascade Point, Field Prep, Auto Loading Holster, Envious Assassin
  • Second Column: Frenzy, Bait and Switch, Full Court, Explosive Light.
  • Heavy GLs being what they are right now IDK if this is a must have or even worth space in your vault. It has good combos but GLs are outclassed in DMG by Rockets and LFRs and in Ad clear by MGs.

Luna's Howl (Forsaken):

  • Precision Fram 140 RPM Solar HC (you read that right I didn't mistype)
  • Originally this was a 180 RPM HC and it DOMINATED PVP because it could 2 tap. It was fucking BROKEN.
  • Magnificent Howl perk has been redesigned: “The number of precision final blows before reloading affects the total rounds granted with increased range and damage. Precision final blows with Magnificent Howl active extend the effect for additional rounds.”
  • Can still 2 tap but with more effort.
  • First Column: Eye of the Storm, Encore, Enlightened Action, Heal Clip.
  • Second Column: Magnificent Howl, Kill Clip, Incandescent, Opening Shot, Precision Instrument, Harmony.
  • This is a PVP gun. You got Heal Clip Incandescent if you want it but there are some nasty PVP combos.
  • Very interested to see how this does now with that unique weapon frame. TBH not looking forward to dealing with it in Crucible.

Midnight Coup (Leviathan):

  • Kinetic 140 RPM HC
  • A VERY old gun that has been requested a lot. It was quite good in Crucible because it was one of like 4 guns that could have two perks. (dark times)
  • First Column: Outlaw, Firefly, Explosive Payload, Moving Target, Enlightened Action.
  • Second Column: Rampage, Kinetic Tremors, Zen Moment, One for All, Frenzy, Opening Shot.
  • The OG roll was fixed as Outlaw/Rampage but we have a lot more options now.

Hung Jury (The Taken King):

  • Precision 180 RPM Scout
  • I don't really get why they're bringing this back as a Brave weapon when it just left the NF rotation. Feels like kind of a miss as they could have just put this back in the NF rotation and given us a different "classic" gun like Shadow Price, Ringing Nail, or Kindled Orchid.
  • First Column: Rewind Rounds, Enlightened Action, Kinetic Tremors, Rapid Hit, Shoot to Loot
  • Second Column: One for All, Cascade Point, Box Breathing, Firefly, Precision Instrument, Explosive Payload.
  • Another gun that if you already have I see no reason to get.

Elsie's Rifle (Destiny 1):

  • Used to be called The Stranger's Rifle.
  • I can't look this up in light.gg but it says it's a Void PR now. It used to use the same model as No Time to Explain so I would guess it's an Aggressive PR.
  • First Column: Feeding Frenzy, Zen Moment, Repulsor Brace, Keep Away, Rewind Rounds.
  • Second Column: Adrenaline Junkie, Frenzy, Destabilizing Rounds, Kill Clip, Desperado, Headseeker.
  • Good perks all around but it's competing in a crowded field of good PRs.

Of all the guns that didn't come back I'm surprised Khvostov is not here. I would not be surprised if we get a hidden exotic quest in this content drop for it. I think behind Gjallarhorn and just "Hand Cannons" it's the most iconic Destiny weapon.

With this year's guardian games coming to a close along with the hoverboard preview, I'll admit that it was nice to let warlocks keep theirs, but I wonder when they will be releasing them to the other classes?

TL;DR:

  • Developer Stream Recap
  • Introducing Onslaught (horde mode)
    • Takes place on Crucible Maps?
    • Defend 1 of 3 locations with an Advanced Defense Unit (ADU)
    • Make your way to the Pyramid ship to defeat the boss onboard.
    • If the ADU is destroyed you lose.
    • Each location consists of 10 waves. First 9 are divided into sections of 3 rounds. Each round increases difficulty. Every 3 the difficulty is reset.
    • 10th wave is boarding the Pyramid ship to defeat a boss. Boss drops a chest with loot.
    • Collect scraps during waves to spend on purchasing and improving your defenses.
    • Defenses can be destroyed and then must be purchased again and leveled up again.
    • ADU batteries drop from special enemies that can be used to repair the ADU.
    • Playlist version only has 1 set of 10 waves. Heroic and Legend version have 5 sets of 10 for a total of 50.
    • After wave 10 you move to a new location and the difficulty increases similarly to how the Coil currently works.
    • Legend will have modifiers and champions.
  • Another live stream on March 26th. Tune in to get emblems. Stream starts earlier to make up for an issue where you couldn't get enough time viewed during the first stream.
  • Small PVP Sandbox Update:
    • Precision ARs are over performing. Prosecutor and Positive Outlook called out. Base damage of all Precision ARs down 5%.
    • Lots of small tweaks to several weapon types. Mostly small damage buffs.
    • Bow buffs do not affect Le Monarque and Wish Ender.
    • Sunshot and Last Word can now kill with 3 hits.
    • Flinch reduced by 15% to compensate for changes to health and requiring more crits.
  • Guardian Games stats updates. Next week is last week.
  • 20% off Silver Bundles March 26th - April 2nd.

We got several new weapons with the update today. Going to take a look at what good rolls they might have. These are in no particular order:

Nightfall Weapons

Wild Style:

  • Type: Secondary Double Fire Solar GL
  • Column 1:
    • Envious Assassin is the clear winner here.
  • Column 2:
    • One for All
    • Surrounded
    • Incandescent (maybe)
  • Not a whole lot to like here. It has the Tex Balanced Stock Origin trait which I don't think is very useful on a GL.
  • Second column has some OK damage perks but OFA is hit or miss and Surrounded is not something you want to be with a GL.

The Slammer:

  • Type: Spin to Win Stasis Sword
  • Column 1:
    • Eager Edge
    • Relentless Strikes
    • Chain Reaction
    • Attrition Orbs
  • Column 2:
    • Bait and Switch
    • One for All
    • Permeability
    • Cold Steel
  • Lots of options for this one. Eager Edge on a Vortex frame has big meme potential while also probably being good.
  • Attrition Orbs feels like it was made for Swords. Too bad Relentless strikes is in the same column.
  • Can't go wrong with Cold Steel.

New Prophecy Weapons:

  • Origin Trait: Crossing Over
    • Increased Range and Handling for the top half of the mag. Increased Damage for the bottom half.

Judgement:

  • Type: 140 RPM Stasis HC
  • It has Scopes!
  • Column 1:
    • Moving Target
    • Headstone
    • Enlightened Action
    • Encore
    • Slideshot
    • Demolitionist
  • Column 2 (this is all of them BTW):
    • Vorpal
    • Timed Payload
    • Opening Shot
    • Multi-Kill Clip
    • Eye of the Storm
    • Adrenaline Junkie
  • So many combos. Vorpal, MKC, and Slideshot are probably the worst perks on the gun and they're still usable.
  • The fact that it has scopes elevates this gun for me even after all the range changes.
  • It starts with 95 recoil direction too.
  • Likely going to be a PVP beast.

Relentless:

  • Type: High Impact Strand Pulse Rifle (340RPM)
  • Column 1:
    • Slideways
    • Snapshot
    • Slice
    • Rapid Hit
    • Outlaw
    • Keep Away
  • Column 2:
    • Zen Moment
    • Moving Target
    • Hatchling
    • Frenzy
    • Desperado
  • Another PVP monster. Pick your favorite combo. Also some good PVE use.
  • Starts with 65 recoil direction so not great but not terrible.
  • Has High Cal and Ricochet Rounds.
  • Kind of a shame Darkest Before isn't back but I'll live with the multitude of Arc Rapid fires we have.

Adjudicator:

  • Type: Precision Kinetic SMG (600RPM)
  • Column 1:
    • Threat Detector
    • Subsistence
    • Rangefinder
    • Perpetual Motion
    • Feeding Frenzy
    • Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Column 2:
    • Target Lock
    • Rampage
    • Onslaught
    • Kinetic Tremors
    • Frenzy
    • Fragile Focus
  • Onslaught is very interesting. Also has the other SMG standards like Rangefinder, Target Lock, Threat Detector, Rampage, etc.
  • Again lots of good combos to pick from. Good PVP and PVE to choose from.

Prosecutor:

  • Type: Precision Arc Auto Rifle (450RPM)
  • Column 1:
    • Zen Moment
    • Rewind Rounds
    • Keep Away
    • Dragonfly
    • Discord
    • Gutshot Straight
  • Column 2:
    • Voltshot
    • Target Lock
    • Tap the Trigger
    • Golden Tricorn
    • Frenzy
    • Cascade Point
  • Give us a reload perk + voltshot on an AR you cowards. TBH keep away might fit the bill here.
  • Bungie really pulling out all the stops with these Prophecy guns.
  • Gutshot is clearly the worst perk. Cascade point is meme territory and fun.

A Sudden Death:

  • Type: Aggressive Frame Void Shotgun
  • Leaving some clearly bad perks off on this one
  • Column 1:
    • Repulsor Brace
    • Slideshot
    • Envious Assassin
    • Threat Detector
    • Elemental Capacitor
  • Column 2:
    • Trench Barrel
    • Opening Shot
    • One-Two Punch
    • Destabilizing Rounds
    • Cascade Point
    • Barrel Constrictor
  • Correct me if I'm wrong but this used to be a slug shotgun?
  • It has good PVE combos but nothing I think you can't get elsewhere.
  • Slideshot+Opening Shot is a PVP menace. Threat Detector is probably good option too.
  • Probably the most meh of all these Prophecy weapons for me.

Trials Weapons

The Prophet:

  • Type: Aggressive Stasis Scout (120RPM Lever Action)
  • Column 1:
    • Rapid Hit
    • Outlaw
    • Hip Fire Grip (maybe?)
    • Keep Away
    • Demolitionist (bypass reload)
    • Enlightened Action
    • Discord (more rounds in the mag)
  • Column 2:
    • Kill Clip
    • Headstone
    • Golden Tricorn
    • Explosive Payload
    • Cascade Point
  • So this looks nice but I feel like if you're going to use a lever action scout in PVE you should just be using DMT for the Exotic damage boost.
  • It could potentially be good in PVP with all the TTK shifts in this new update.
  • Does Kill Clip proc on each bullet loaded? Or only on the full clip? I don't think we've ever had this perk on single loading gun.

The Summoner:

  • Type: Adaptive Solar AR (600RPM)
  • Column 1:
    • Overflow
    • Perpetual Motion
    • Dynamic Sway Reduction
    • Subsistence
    • Zen Moment
    • Elemental Capacitor
    • Heal Clip
  • Column 2:
    • Rampage
    • Golden Tricorn
    • Onslaught
    • Kill Clip
    • Tap the Trigger
    • Target Lock
    • Incandescent
  • Another stacked gun for both PVE and PVP. I think it's hard to go wrong other than getting perks for different modes together.
  • I would personally like Subsistence/Onslaught.
  • This gun also now has the Wild Card trait so it drops the mini Telesto bolts on kill.

Iron Banner

Multimach CCX:

  • Type: Lightweight Kinetic SMG (900RPM)
  • Column 1:
    • Moving Target
    • Rangefinder
    • Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Column 2:
    • Target Lock
    • Tap the Trigger
    • Kinetic Tremors
    • Kill Clip
    • Iron Reach
  • The OG SMG menace returns. Now even more cracked. For those unaware, this thing was Immortal before the Immortal existed.
  • I wouldn't use this in PVE but I guess you could if you wanted to with Kinetic Tremors.
  • It also now has the Field Tested Origin Trait.

Riiswalker:

  • Type: Lightweight Kinetic Shotgun
  • Honestly the rolls to chase on this are the same as they were before IMO.
  • Column 1:
    • Surplus or Killing Wind. Maybe Slideshot. Column 2:
    • Opening Shot or Iron Reach.
  • Lightweight frame shotguns are just not in a good spot in PVP and if I'm going to use one it's going to be the Wastelander.

Guardian Games:

Hullabaloo:

  • Type: Waveframe Heavy Arc GL
  • Column 1:
    • Voltshot
    • Envious Assassin
    • Auto Loading Holster
    • Field Prep Column 2:
    • Golden Tricorn
    • Chain Reaction
    • Vorpal
    • One For All
  • Idk this has some neat combos but Heavy GLs have never been good since they nerfed their damage.
  • Voltshot/Chain Reaction sounds cool but seems redundant in practice. When are you ever going to have THAT many enemies alive. Especially after you just got a kill with a Heavy Wave Frame GL.
  • If I'm using a heavy for add clear it's going to be a LMG and it's going to be Commemoration.

TL;DR:

  • Hoverboards as a new vehicle alternate to Sparrows, everyone gets one for free.
  • You can do tricks and grind with them
  • Guardian Games starts on March 5th.
  • GG weapon this year is a heavy wave frame GL. Has Chain Reaction Voltshot as a combo.
  • Old Weapons get new perks. Taraxipos gets Slice and Precision Instrument.
  • GG memento dropping. It's red, black, and gold.
  • All the big changes to PVP previously discussed also drop next week.

Another big TWID from the Crucible Strike Team. I'm not going to hit on everything in this summary just the big things.

TL;DR:

  • Major changes to spawn locations to help avoid spawn traps. All of the offending maps get called out here. Some of this is already in the live game.
  • Big maps will no longer have backfield spawns in non-Rift modes. (Think spawning in the "base" on Disjunction).
  • 3 New Maps in May:
    • One on Europa
    • One on Neomuna
    • One in the Terraformed Pyramid Ship
  • New maps are sized for 3v3 but will play on 6v6.
  • More crafting materials already being rewarded for Crucible Matches
  • Competitive Crucible will start dropping Artifice Armor.
  • Trials gets a new Passage: Passage of Persistence that doesn't require going Flawless to cash it in for an Adept weapon. Wins will always add to your card. Losses will take away only one win.
    • Based on the wording I think you can still go flawless on this card which would mean you go to the lighthouse for an extra Adept drop like it works now.
  • Passage of Ferocity will now reset to 3 wins instead of flawing the card if you have not yet gone flawless for the week.
  • More non-adept trials drops for completions of matches as a fireteam of 3.
  • New King of the Hill mode Collision coming. Hill rotates around 5 points on the map. Has a different Special Ammo meter system.
  • IB Tribute getting changes. No more tracking players with max crests through the wall.
  • Recap of last week's TWID about decreasing the skill gap.
  • Lots of talk about Matchmaking that kind of goes over my head because I've been unable to keep up with how they do matchmaking over the years.
  • Solo and Duo matchmaking staying in Trials to preserve matchmaking pool. Passage of Persistence should help solos feel like they're making progress.

Thoughts:

  • The last two weeks have all sounded like good stuff for the health of Crucible. I like crucible but it's so god damn sweaty now that I won't play unless I'm with friends.
  • Shifting optimal TTK to require more precision will make it feel like you're not dying as quick and hopefully make the game feel less cheap.
  • Special ammo meter is a good solution to fix Special weapon spam without reverting us back to Y1 or otherwise changing the identity of PVP.
  • The changes to Trials are a big highlight for me. I've been able to go flawless as a solo a few times but it's been a fucking STRUGGLE. Considering some of the best guns in the entire game are in Trials I'm glad they're giving people the ability to at least get ONE roll a week.

PVP Updates:
