This community was created for people to post saying they were looking for games in either a community general thread, or by creating a post which means they would become a games host if someone accepts a challenge.
Gameplay would then happen inside the thread of the host using algebraic notation in a way that opponents get a notification when a move has been made. (Host may premove a white move, or play as back and reply to a comment to the post for each move).
Each turn is envisaged to be a seperate comment reply off the hosts post rather than a many nested deep comment and they would likely need a move number.
As a moderator, i wouldnt be looking to get directly involved with how each specific game runs, more provide guidelines or requirements for hosts to issue chy challenges.
Game times could be long or someone might be looking for a low latency blitz-like game, or someone else might be going for move a day.
A chess club/ enthusiastic player might have an account here and make an post saying that 'for next 4 hours, we have a table setup and someone willing to play' which then spawns more posts for individual games.
Game hosts should state what they're looking to get out of the game and any specific rules in play (Knight boost, siberian swipe etc). And they are free to decline any challenges made by others.
Id see about having some mechanism for recording "Good Games" where people can give thumbsup to others in the community and that could help them with future matchmaking.
I'd be looking at banning people who continuously post challenges and flake out, comment on others games midgame, people spamming or commenting wildly off topic etc, but hope it doesnt come to that.
What I'm looking to get out of this. Im making a place to playtest some AnarchyChess extensions before they possible get coded into a playable game and hopefully find out early if moves are overpowered or so.
At the moment, i'd be looking to change community rules to 1. Be excellent to each other 2. No betting on games (which might be against site wide rules anyway)
Love to hear anyones thoughts. I'm busy facilitating a game in an AnarchyChess community and wont be looking to play anything myself here until thats done.
