The Cure in Orange is a concert film by British rock group The Cure.

It was shot on 35mm film at the Théâtre antique d'Orange in the French countryside (Orange, Vaucluse), on 8, 9, and 10 August 1986.

Band members Robert Smith (Vocals & guitar), Simon Gallup (Bass guitar), Porl Thompson (Keyboards, guitar and saxophone), Boris Williams (Drums), and Lol Tolhurst (Keyboards) make their way through 23 songs, under the direction of Tim Pope.

Does anyone know of any songs that are similar to "Stella was a diver and she was always down" by Interpol? Specifically, the second half of the chorus with the heavier bass where the lyrics are just, "she broke away, broke away".

I've liked everything MGMT has done in their career so far and I really appreciate that they do what they want despite the success of their first album.

But my initial impression of this album is that nothing really caught my ear and it's overall unexciting.

However I'll definitely give this a few more listens before completely writing it off since I have trust in these artists and perhaps it's more of a slow burn for me that I'll appreciate later.

This is one of my favorite new songs in the last year. The thoughtful lyrics are about mental health and understanding others at a time where I feel like it's extremely relevant and the smooth harmonies and guitar picking mellow me out and get me emotional at the same time. I hope everyone else enjoys as much as I do.

WTF did I just find? It's simple, haunting, emotional. It would be at home as touring partner with Joy Division or Siouxsie and the Banshees. It's awesome. The video is cheesy.

Just shut up and get outta my car
Nothing you know won't get you far enough the hell away from me

" Pearl Jam announce new album 'Dark Matter,' share title track - Pearl Jam have announced Dark Matter, their 12th album and the followup to 2020’s Gigaton. Guitarist Mike McCready promised an album that’s “a lot heavier than you’d expect” in an interview with Classic Rock last fall, and following the dancier vibes of Gigaton, Dark Matter‘s lead single and title track does indeed feel like a return to Pearl Jam’s classic ’90s grungy hard rock vibes. Check it out below. The album drops April 19 via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records." https://www.brooklynvegan.com/pearl-jam-announce-new-album-dark-matter-share-title-track

A mainstay of recent years in garage punk is back with a somewhat more high-profile LP via Erste Theke Tonträger after a string of more understated cassette and digital releases. This thing is as eclectic as any of these but at the same time, a lot more focused, determined and consistent than some of those more scrappy recent offerings. Spanning a spectrum from the propulsive post punk of the opening salvo (When It's Gone, A.P.A.C.), melancholy indie rock ballads (Texas Cloud), compfy synth pop tunes (Let U Know) to straightforward garage-/fuzz punk explosions (Can't Take It, 2 Car Garage), there's plenty of meat to dig your teeth into, all held together by Vinny Earley's always confident, often plainly brilliant songwriting powers. Last but not least, Weekend Shadows and Carryon are further examples of exactly that kind of supreme power-/fuzz pop hymn the dude has always excelled at.
