I have quite a large collection of photographs from my travels (about 50,000). My photos are correctly labeled with date and geo location. The functions I find most useful are sorting the photos by date, facial recognition, map with geo location.

I would like to know which programs are the best to manage this kind of collection.

I have recently bought a cheap second hand DSLR (Nikon D3200) and I want some simple way to print photos I am happy with. I have been looking at devices like the Instax Link, the Polaroid Hi-Print and some Canon product.

What I really want is just simple prints that look good with no extra features. The device should preferably be in an as small format as possible and be either powered by USB-C or charged by USB-C if it is battery powered.

The best would be if the interface used to print the photos was as dumb/simple as possible. I accept that I might have to get an app or something, but if possible I would like it to be usable without an app as well (SD card? Web interface?).

I have never owned any photo printers before and don't really know what to look for. Hopefully I have made it somewhat clear what I am looking for.

What are your recommendations? What do you use? Are you happy with your photo printer?

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Managed to get up early enough to catch a summer sunrise in North Van today. Always a struggle to get out the door by 4:30am in the summer.

Just moved and getting to see all of these new birds on the land behind me. Takes some patience to get this close but they can be interesting!

Hey there, I have been shooting a couple of Autocross events recently. I intend to edit and give the photos I am happy with away free of charge. A person in the photos has requested the raw shots and I just want to hear some opinions as I am conflicted.

So like the title says I am interested in photography but know next to nothing about it. My question is what's a good camera for someone like me preferably under $800? Thanks in advance for the help.

Saw a lightning bug crawling on the window and thought of a cool shot! Little guy was happy to fly away after.

Eating dinner out back while enjoying a nice, hazy sunset when I noticed these guys on track to drift by. Had to put down the fork and pick up a camera!

You snap a pic, go home, edit it, and it turns out great! But what do you do next? How do you share it? Do you upload it somewhere?

I've always liked the colors going on here, despite the poor composition on the shot.

Hi there,

I have a question regarding cameras. In around 2008/2009, I bought a Canon EOS 1000D with some lenses. I practiced quite a bit and liked photography a lot. My main issue with it is that it is huge and heavy (as all DSLR), and I stopped carrying it with me on every occasion, which is a shame as I love "on-the-spot" pictures. And now, I haven't taken any pictures with it for a few years, and it has been sitting on the shelf. Today, I'd like to go back to good gear, as I'm really feeling the limits of phone photography, but I'm completely out of the game and don't really know what to look for.

My wishlist would be:

  1. Compatible with my lenses (mainly EF- 50mm and EF 55-200), adapter OK.
  2. Compact enough when mounted with the EF-S 18-55 that I can put it in a (medium) purse/bag
  3. Less than 1000€, ideally in the 500€ range.

I don't care much for videos. Is there anything that would be fitting, or should I just buy bigger purses and get back to my 1000D ^^?

Thanks for the advice!

[EDIT] I made a mistake in the lens I wanted to keep, it was not so much the 18-55 (which is standard indeed) but the 50mm portrait... that being said, I suspect this does not change the answers given as the mounting system is the same. Thanks a lot for the answers btw. I will have a look at second-hand cameras and build from there. I still would like interchangeable lenses as I would like the versatility and hope to retake my camera for the occasional photo trip.
