I think it's the fact that it isn't mainstream is what makes it tolerable. Once you get everyone on a platform it turns into garbage. Just dumb people amplifying other dumb people.

So I'm interested to see how federation plays out long term. I don't think the majority of reddit will come here for awhile so at the least I'm enjoying it while I can.

As you said this is par for the course for the NYT foreign affairs reporting which has never opposed a war especially not during the lead up to that war.

I'm not a deep state conspiracy theorist in fact I'm not even right wing, but you can't help but wonder if the numerous links between CIA, FBI, and 'intelligence officers' with mass media isn't at fault.

Yet look what happened to the fediverse. I wouldn't be here without his boneheaded move. So it already changed things for me and thousands more like me. I don't plan on going back.
