Ah OK, I understand now. Thank you for explaining :)

Don't worry, I promise :D
No way a purple like your skirt can escape from me, no matter what. Btw, I was also on the team black-purple-forest green for a long long time, but apparently I took it too far because at some point I just couldn't anymore.

Since then, most things I sew or buy feel slightly off when I start wearing them. So, choosing colours for a project kind of stresses me. That's why I had a look at the colour palette thing, but it was overwhelming... Thank you so much for the suggestions!

Glad that you brought that up! How did you determine your colours? I've tried an online tool that uses pictures, but the results are all over the place...

@QTpi @MrsDoyle

It looks amazing! The colours, the size, the lace - everything!

What is particular about weaving in bamboo ends? (I'm new to projects big enough to have ends to weave in, so always appreciative of the experience of other knitters)

For the record: I'm not bored of it either! Looks stunning!

Totally know what you mean. My clothes are mostly plain black/brown/grey because these colours are a safe bet for me. I'm weary of taking a colour risk when I'll put so much time and effort in making a garment..."Luckily", knitting with black yarn is such a pain in the eye that I'm forced to pick a colour :)

It sounds like you'll have it on time for winter - and it looks so warm! Love the saturated green!

Thank you so much! True, it isn't that bad. But it looses its shape the moment you touch it and it really grew since I first wore it.
The yarn is nice, although it got a little rough on my hands towards the end, when I spent more time on the project.

That's a great find! I can totally picture a very good friend of mine wearing one of those. (Could that be the beginning of yet another WIP?)

So true! I've felted a couple of wool items over the past two years because I wasn't paying attention... And modern acrylics are so soft! I went through my mom's abandoned stash today and the acrylic yarns she had from the eighties. Were. So. Rough.

(To be clear: mom's fine, just not knitting any more)

I'm right there with you. No finished projects in my household and the only thing I've ever blocked are my recent swatches. So, thanks for asking the question!

On a different note:
I totally misinterpreted where you were going with this post, based on the title alone (before reading the main body). I expected it would be about the void left behind when a longtime project is completed. :D

"Specialized hobby tools" sounds like a community I would join... BTW, I'm a little proud that I attracted attention from the local timeline :) If you stick around, we might even convert you to knitting!
