Same as you, I also haven't fully dipped my toes to the world of self-hosting (yet).

  1. For non-animation movies/series, I wade through the popular/trending categories or read recommendation from friends, lemmy or, god forbid, reddit. I don't really need to do this lately as my shows backlog is as long as my games backlog.
  2. For convenience always. 720p is fine for me.
  3. I stream. Unless it is one of my favorites I want to keep.
  4. Real-debrid+Stremio.
  5. Stremio does it for me. Also for anime, I have Anilist.

If this is about your post in [email protected], I can see it just fine by checking the post history from your profile. I'm using Voyager.

It's like how there are mass shooters and then there are sane people with guns. You don't remember the name of the latter because they are the vast majority and comparatively boring than the former.

Applicable to everyone really, especially those that want to sell you something that sounds too good to be true.

True for English shows, I had substantially harder time finding non-English shows.

Hi, thank you very much! Sorry I'm using my alt account because it seems like lemdro.id's instance is acting up.

I've check the key I got in my DM for Strange Horticulture but it said that it can't be redeemed from my country (Indonesia). Not sure why, considering the game is not blocked in my country. Is it possible the key can only be redeemed in certain countries?

Ah, I totally forgot about that option. I think it's mainly for developers who wants to add additional search function to Kvaesitso.

What kind plugin do you have in mind? Like widgets or something that change how the launcher works?

I didn't really tinker with the launcher tbh.

The only thing that took (still taking) my time was tagging all my apps, not done yet, but at least the important apps are done.

Awh, just when I switched to Kvaesitso just a week ago precisely because Lawnchair hasn't been updated for years. Both are great tbh.

Thanks! Exactly what I'm looking for :D

Thanks, I stand corrected. I can search for "all" in Voyager but I missed it. Either I missed it or the feature has been improved. It has been awhile since the last time I use the search feature. I'm a happy camper now.

First, I'm sorry if this is not the right place to discuss this.

I've been using both desktop browser (Firefox) and Voyager to lurk around Lemmy and try to reduce my Reddit use. Though most of the time, I went back to Reddit to search simple things such as:

  • "Best FOSS productivity Android app 2024"
  • "Linux distro NVIDIA"
  • "Recommended e-book reader beginner"
  • "Good quality air fryer"
  • etc

The point is, I like to check someone personal opinion and list of recommendations first when I want to make a decision to use/buy certain things.

I know for tech related questions, there are lemmy posts somewhere talking about them, but it's hard to find these posts because the search feature separate searching for posts and comments content when I believe both are equally important in subject/topic/discussion-oriented platform.

With Reddit, I can use the google trick ("site:reddit.com bla bla") to help me find what I need, but it's not that straight forward with Lemmy, considering there are many instances.

For example, someone might make a post asking for "affordable SSD", the comments might write "affordable" as "cheap", "bang for bucks", or "inexpensive". Search feature for both posts and comments will improve the chance of people finding relevant information.

Is there any way to do this? So then I can rely less on Reddit to find recommendations?
