if somebody compromises you, physically, they can see everything you can log into

Can they though? I own a few yubikeys with passkeys stored inside and i cannot query stored logins without entering a pin.

To be accurate, they don't know either. A login key and a decryption key are derived from password and secret key client-side.

Only recently discovered CRD, but he's quickly becoming my favorite channel. He's doing the exact kind of deep dives into obscure tech topics that i love.

I honestly had to look into this, because it felt way over the top. But they actually do exist.

Dry ice vending machines are in stores, so that frozen goods won't melt on the way home.

As for the natural gas vending machine, those were directly hooked to a stove. Putting in coins and spinning the crank made it dispense gas for 10 minutes. But there's also seemingly no information on these on the english side of the internet.

Despite it being funny, beta didn't lose over porn. VHS with a larger tape length captured consumers with ability to record for longer.

Both formats were at first for home tv recording, pre-recorded distribution only came once many households had VHS and this was viable. The formats weren't designed for it.
