Honestly, I still passed on some titles as the covers were not visually interesting to me. But there was still quite a lot I had to skip due to costs. This was already an unexpected splurge for me, but I like the idea of supporting local authors.

Medyo mahirap din kasi yung self-imposed standards nila with quality paper and full-colored pages. I wonder if they could have done better in the current internet landscape.

Pick up a light dumbbell and see how long you can hold it. Take a rest and pick a heavier dumbbell and see if you can hold it for as long as you could with the lighter dumbbell.

You can also try and see how far you can walk while holding either the lighter or the heavier dumbbell.

Tried commuting via MRT after 3 years of avoiding public transport and it's surprisingly just about the same experience I had on good days before the pandemic. On a related note, one of the stems on my foldable umbrella finally broke after a decade of use, so now I've a reason to buy a new one.

My average travel time between work and home is usually around 30 minutes. Last night it took 2 hours; nearly an hour trapped at the Santolan U-turn and another from that U-turn to Ortigas. I half-expected the problem to be due to a higher volume of traffic going into Ortigas at the Ortigas flyover, but it was actually caused by an unusual volume at Ortigas ilalim; presumably to take either take a right turn to San Juan, or a U-turn to EDSA's northbound side. It's almost like an ouroboros.

Goes to show how infrastructure can be caught unprepared for unusual weather patterns. I shudder at the thought of getting a few days of snow here.

What The Fuck. I clicked on the linked Washington Post article on Oil companies hiring TikTok influencers and the opening is about a US-based Filipina lola shilling for Shell.

It may just be one whiny wanker today. But better play safe now than be involved with some corpo roping you in on an anti-piracy suit.

No. It just means Reddit managed to argue for their specific case. And even then they had to spend resources that a Lemmy instance owner might not have.

Lemmy users are just showing their disapproval of the action. They have the right to do.

Would be great if they actually tried to understand the underlying issue instead of resorting to knee-jerk reactions.
