I've been trying to log in to my account but my password – which I have written down – is apparently not even long enough to be valid. I don't know when this started happening but the point is that I can't log back in.

I tried resetting my password but the email never came to me. I've tried multiple different emails, and have confirmed that the email is not only already in use (meaning that there is an account tied to it), but I've got a lemmy notification in my email inbox to show for it as well.

If anyone could help out and/or point me in the right direction, that would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to login to my older account after being logged out for a while and I kept getting an error that my password wasn’t long enough as it needs to be 10 or more characters. But if I’m not mistaken, my password (which I had kept record of) is less than 10 characters and I can’t exactly change that.

When I tried to reset my password I never got the email, and yes, I checked my inbox thoroughly. Even when creating this new account which I’m currently posting from, I first tried using the email that was tied to my original account and got an error that the email already exists, confirming that my original account is in fact under that email.

What are my options and what am I doing wrong here?
