Sorry, English is not my mothertongue. How would you reformulate the title in proper English?

I can see each of your points being actively exploited by my government. We're fucked.

Assange has been held in [...] Prison on the outskirts of London for five years, and he previously spent seven years in self-exile at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London [...] until his asylum was withdrawn and he was forcibly carried out of the embassy and arrested in April 2019.

12 years... fuck...

You're absolutely correct. The deputees from the Rassemblement National voted against writing the right to abortion into the French constitution and they did not support gender-equality laws when presented at the Parliament.

Personne n'a sonné.

"Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2 was playing on the radio. The song was released in 1983 and describes the horror felt by an observer of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, mainly focusing on the 1972 Bloody Sunday incident where British troops shot and killed unarmed civil rights protesters.

Are there other songs with a social or political message, about more recent historical events (2000s, 2010s, 2020s)? There are many about the 9/11 attacks.

Below are some examples I know about:

  • "Where Is the Love?" by The Black Eyed Peas - Released in 2003, this song addresses various social issues, including terrorism, war, racism, and discrimination, reflecting on the state of the world post-9/11.

  • "American Idiot" by Green Day - Released in 2004, this song is a commentary on American politics and society during the presidency of George W. Bush, particularly criticizing the media and consumer culture.

  • "B.Y.O.B." by System of a Down - Released in 2005, this song addresses the Iraq War and critiques the hypocrisy of war and violence.

You drove and pulled up to the gas station to fill your gas tank. You exited your vehicle, opened your gas tank cover, grabbed and put the dispenser nozzle in. You also had to pay at some point.

How can you forget that the hose is still connected to your car when you drive off?

Hello everyone.

I want to get back into healthy habits. This includes reading books before bed and no screen before bed.

The thing is that (for now) my partner and our child all sleep in the same bedroom. I tend to get to bed after they are already asleep and don't want to disturb them.

What's the best option to read in the dark that doesn't involve blue light screen (smartphone) or high luminosity?

Are there e-readers with very very dim light that still allow comfortable reading?

Thanks for your input.
