My electric bike gets more range than a Chevy Bolt and I love it. I charge it at work for free and it has been an extremely reliable bike for a couple years now.

We got infected for first time ever last September, were double boosted (so 4 doses in total) prior to that and the new boosters (for the BA strain family) were just coming out at that time which we were planning to take. It hit us bad, Paxlovid helped a lot getting it out. Then we got infected again in December as JA.1 started spreading everywhere but just a mild cold this time. The new strains are just so infectious and by the time the vaccines targeting them are available, most people are already infected.

It is a whole lot more complicated than what you said but the gist of the matter is Boeing's greediness and MBAs getting priority over Engineers.

That's the FRA, and they don't have nearly the same budget

I agree, and I am not here trying to start some Apple vs Android war. My comparison was just to give some perspective on the competition.

Is 8GB RAM laptop even relevant to this discussion? You seem to be going off on the “Apple doesn’t provide enough RAM with their base models” rant which is a completely different discussion. Regarding soldering the SSD, many manufacturers do it and it’s certainly not good practice for the environment.

I never said Apple is the greenest company in existence but they are also not the worst like the original company implied and they are certainly not forcing early retirement of their products. On the contrary they are doing the opposite by providing software support even 5-6 years after purchase.

Finally had enough of Reddit after 10 years and joined Lemmy today. I remember being on Reddit CC some years ago and it was a nice chill place back then, hopefully this community is able to emulate it.

You say that, meanwhile Apple is the benchmark in providing software updates and support for their devices. Just a few years ago, Android manufacturers were not even providing 2 years of updates.
