Just finished Annie Bot by Sierra Greer and liked it! I love how reading fiction males certain concepts click for me, this book worked that way and das still entertaining

Note that my point was that "this is not as bad as this awful other thing I know about" is not really how I would go about qualifying sexual harassment. It is very funny imo that according to my nail polish diary, my first manicure of 2023 was cirque colors pony up, and in the brand new year of 2024 I open the festivities by wearing dark horse by mooncat -- another brown, horse themed polish. What can I say? they're both great!! Although the formula here finally lived up to mooncat's infamy. Very gloopy, needed so much thinner right out of the gate, and I don't think it was enough. Yeah, that's true, that's the only thing that actually bothers. I've started using the Essie smooth-e base coat which is quite "milky" so it sort of color corrects it enough. I think there's bases that are specifically meant to do this, and you can probably use a sheer polish to achieve the same! All in all with what I hear about the processes to whiten the nail, color correcting is a better long term option I think

Wearing no base coat may be worse, in my experience. I think some colors are just worst offenders than others, like more pigmented cremes versus glitters or jellies. I find that the yellowing sorts itself out if I e.g. wear less-staining polishes for a while, but it's not like I'm tracking it super closely. I also find that wearing blurring base coats or opposite-toned sheers kind of evens out the staining and that's enough for it to not bother me, but honestly. My nails are always painted so it's not like I would even notice it 😅

Without the flash, for reference! I quite like how these polishes sparkle off of regular overhead light but in pictures I can only get "cartoonishly bright" or "kinda bland white noise-ish" 🤷

OK so it's almost NYE, we're doing sparkles. I couldn't quite decide what to put on my nails so I went for an assortment -- cirque disco ball, which I thought would be more of a topper so almost never wear, topped with holo taco disco dust which is more what I expected out of disco ball tbh; then Essie gel couture caviar bar on it's own, topped with disco dust and topped with holo taco freezer burn. My mooncat order arrived recently and after spending a couple of hours with the most mish mashed of skittles I decided to do a full manicure with midnight rider. It's really lovely!! I do think I could get a similar effect layering elixir of everlasting life over a black polish to get this strong blue shimmer and scattered holo; but it wouldn't exactly have the same depth as this black jelly base, so I don't regret buying both 😅 alt text: a hand showing nail polish: a dark base with strong blue shimmer and scattered holographic glitter
