Why would I have men trample my own crops? It is only 'theirs' in that they do require food to continue living.

I will wish to meet with the rabblerouser that has started this mess. Hear his complaints so that I might judge their worth.

And then kill the man regardless. Even if his argument had merit he still insight unproductive waste and discord while giving threat to his fellow men. There are proper ways of levying grievance. If his cause be just and his words true then the Lord will receive him gladly and I will mark a local day of remembrance for him. If his cause is foul and his words laced with treasonous venom? Well, the execution will be more a show of sport than a solemn balancing of books.

What? I am not without compassion for these simple people. using the Rod to beat compliance into a beast only works for so long without a reprieve.

As is my right and privilage to have serfs, it is my responsibility to ensure they have enough so they are not starved.

Starved serfs are unproductive and unproductive means I'm even more harrowed by the tax collector than otherwise. This is, naturally, an unacceptable condition.

Nono they can't LEAVE... Gods that's crazy talk. Well. Under escort and when performing duties as menials fine, so long as their share of the work is completed at home. there is a surprising amount of low knowledge to be had from these men of mud. Plus I count more than a few as ... suitable enough to show that their sons and daughters may be worth the expense in training for more specialized tasks around my holdings.

I have a few books I bought, but even then, I grab from z-library. More portable and no DRM.

FBI and CIA are both busy gong through their own version of Squid Games thanks to the current regime wanting to get rid of anyone who's investigated them in the past.

Propaganda of the Deed has long been discredited. As in no, the stereotypical bomb throwing anarchist that mass media wishes to sell DOES. NOT. WORK. At best you end up with the political figure merely replaced and business moves on with the attacker vilified, or at worst the now deceased has become a martyr and support is generated.

As that is trying to force a systemic change through one giant act on a population that won't know what to do with the opening.

It is far better to work within local communities to educate and help build support networks of aid and reliance on eachother rather than systems that can punitively be taken away. That way if an opening presents itself through the course of events, you have a population that will know roughly how to make the best of a situation.

WITH ALL THAT SAID....

The death of the united Healthcare CEO is interesting inthat all attempts at media whitewashing and lionization have fallen on deaf ears.

The problem with Strange Days is.... the same problem cyberpunk as a genre has.

it served as a warning. A lot of people in the world took it as a blueprint.
