Would it be possible to add a way to block instances?
Is there a way to block instances? The tankie spam is getting out of hand.
Going to war with the users of your site when literally all of the content is generated and moderated by users. If the company had just ignored the protestations entirely they would already be back to business as usual. The spiteful and petty reaction is braindead.
For sure. And with ads being so difficult in TikTok’s configuration the best strategy would seem to be the platform banning unsanctioned sponsors and charging businesses before allowing them to advertise in the content.
One small point: there’s not actually a fortune to be made putting ads between vertically scrolling short videos. The actual way people make money on TikTok is through sponsored deals where the content is literally an ad. And Youtube has already backed off from shorts when they realised it doesn’t drive engagement and fifteen second videos don’t work with thirty second ads.
I got stuck in a loop between two images yesterday lmao.
Some effort in sorting through noise now would probably make it easier in the future. Enough noise becomes another pattern to recognise. Up to a point.
“Natural fireworks” seems more appropriate for something like a volcanic eruption or even a wildfire. Thunderstorms and tornadoes don’t really bring that vibe.
Not that I was hoping for a volcanic eruption. I’m solidly on the no volcanic eruptions team.
The average user can run their own instance as an admin.
