I wouldn’t say that a traffic accident without any casualties or injured which only causes commuter delays is “way more important” that a mass shooting where potentially there could be tens of victims no?

Also, still with the effect that you mention it seems like a minor-mid level news that, again, it probably doesn’t even affect the whole country. I still don’t see it as something that should be in worldnews. I'm open to input though I'm the first to accept that i am not the most knowledgeable about american stuff.

Hey i don’t mean to sound rude, but isn’t this the definition of “local news”? It isn’t a huge disaster involving many casualties or even injuries. Even the article states that the consequences are queues for local commuters so its very localized to one state not even America let alone the world, yes? I feel like this should be in the affected states/cities own community, not the world news one.

Ok so if im not seeing other comments in the "straylight villa" instance of lemmy because my "lemmy.world" instance and that one are not "friends" right? So how would one solve this? Is it up to the mods of both instances to find an agreement or is it one sided where an instance can decide to be federated with another one or not?T hanks for your comment!

Honestly im loving the experience and even though its getting big because of all the reddit drama, im loving the small communities feel that it has for now. I have to say though that navigation cross instances its being a bit of a headache and i hope it gets better, much better. At least it should notify me that i am not able to see the rest of the comments on a post because of some settings of the instances / my account no? Or am i missing something?

Oh! I've read about Snow Crash but it looks too much like Ready Player One (the movie AFAIK and i know its the other way around probably) and the whole idea of the metaverse its not much up my alley but i will definitely give it a read too then!!

I've seen Cowboy Bebop and loved it its definitely has got more of the punk than the cyber although that might just be my impression of old era visual cyberpunk.

I find that usually the way I picture cyberpunk media like books, that don't come with images as more modern tech. I'm sure that what William Gibson had in mind while writing Neuromancer was far more retro futuristic that what i imagined while reading it, which was more akin to BR2049.

I finished reading Neuromancer a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. I'm thinking of picking the second volume in a few weeks as i've heard it's even better. Any opinions on that? Also i am open to CP books recommendations as it is a genre i love in modern media!! I also obviously love both blade runner movies, always go to see them when the theater does a screening. And absolutely fell in love with the videogame CP2077 despite the drama surrounding it, i think its the second game ever i ever got to 100% completion!! Very generic answer i know but i would love to dig deeper if anyone has any suggestion!!
