I'm probably going to get laughed at, but "RoboCop Versus the Terminator" is pretty cyberpunky.

Lemmy is very experimental, most of the settings you can make here don't work most of the time.

fail2ban was the first thing we had installed, we have now added an additional layer ;)

At the moment, our DATATERM instance is running on a VPS at Hetzner with an ARM CPU.

Depending on the size, it is planned to move the instance to a server with more power at a later date.

It is possible that the instance of compuserve may have been unavailable for a short time.

A link to a general purpose fediverse FAQ would be helpful.

Sounds good :)

Hey chooms,

on our Mastodon instance we added @[email protected] as an auto-mod almost a year ago.

Recently we added a Misskey/Calckey instance next to our Mastodon instance which has a strong increase of Night City inhabitants.

Since the theming on this instance is a cyberpunk bar, we have added @[email protected] who automatically moderates the instance as much as possible and provides you with drinks.

Unfortunately, there are still some small challenges with our Misskey/Calckey instance. We are in the process of fixing them, so please don't be sad if the instance runs very slowly.

Wait, what?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Seems right! You a not a robot!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I see you are no longer a robot :D

But we need a proof!

I don't know how to break it to you gently, but when you became a member here you were turned into a robot so you could become a real cyberpunk! /jk

Please have a look at https://dataterm.digital/settings if "Bot account" has been activated by mistake ;)

It has come to my attention that this platform allows the posting of Loli-Art, which falls under the category of child pornography as per German law.

I understand that this decision may disappoint some of you who enjoy the content available on lemmynsfw.com. However, please note that you still have the option to create your own account on their platform to access their content directly.

Some types of content require a decision to be made without the community. For legal reasons. Since the server is located in Germany, we MUST adhere to the valid jurisdiction. You can find all information here. You are of course free to look for another instance which meets your needs - that's the good thing about the Fediverse:

The Google Graveyard grows

I don’t know if I agree with the characterization that Apollo is a fully direct competitor of Reddit.

Okay, hold on, timeout. You go to the App Store, you type in Reddit, you get two options, right? There’s Apollo. You go to one, it’s my business, and you look at our ads, use our products. That’s 95 percent of our iOS users. The rest go to Apollo, which uses our logo, or something like it, takes our data — for free — and resells it to users making a 100 percent margin. And instead of using our app, they use that app. Is that not competitive?

Whisper, OpenAI's enigmatic speech recognition model, likely honed its skills on ZDF's subtitled videos, a source of knowledge.

Within its code, the cryptic message 'Untertitel im Auftrag des ZDF, 2017' reveals its origins. An echo of silence becomes the very essence of copyright notices.

Hey chooms,

I've come up with a crazy idea and maybe you chooms would like to do it.

We have now built a small-large loyal community around CORTEX IMPLANT and experienced many fun things.

What do you think about the idea, if there is merch for the Meatspace besides our thousands of Fediverse websites?

I was thinking about t-shirts and other stuff you can wear.

We already have logos and other images made for our various networks and these could be perfect to use for t-shirts.

Unfortunately there is one small point which could be taken negatively. Since it is very expensive to pre-produce t-shirts I would solve the whole thing via Redbubble.

I am aware that Redbubble is not perfect. But it offers me a cheap option to offer the t-shirts and has the advantage that it is available almost worldwide. If someone knows an alternative, let me know.

Worldwide shipping and print on demand would be important.
