I call them x-cretions. So you x-crete them.

I would pilot the redeemer under the map, come up and through their base before detonating in their spawn point. The number of Mega kills I got off that was ridiculous.

You almost got it....

Nah, if that's the goal they'll just use Neutrino Bombs (look them up, they're crazy what they're designed to do)

Still salty that we lost out on the conclusion of the DeusEx trilogy because Eidos Montreal ended up doing the Avengers game that no one even remembers or talks about now.

I thought the same about BotW. Between the lack of story by default (you have to search it out through specific pictures that you damn well be able to know the landscape and match it up) and the sparse music and themes of previous Zelda games. It felt like the SMB2 of Zelda games, you could have titled it something else with a different protagonist and it would have been its own game.

Ml is a ticking time bomb. Mali is starting to take back its domain and lemmy.ml could go offline at any time. OP specifically noted that too.

Always played our games with a 30-60 minute "no attack" build phase (minor skirmishes allowed if you ran into each other). After that, all hell broke loose.

I know everyone likes to tout VR, but I really think that AR will be the sweet spot most people ultimately adopt. Add it into nice looking glasses (sorry Google Glass, not it) and have some sort of easier to use interface that can interact with your surroundings and that will take off.

Imagine being in a business meeting with a little pop up over each person's head with their name, title and other interesting information you need to know. Or be at a baseball game and have similar stats pop up above each player's head. Turn by turn directions overlaid directly on the street. There are endless possibilities (as long as the ads don't get in the way, but even for them, imagine green screen billboards that can display unique ads too).

as recently as 2005

You do realize that's almost 20 years ago. That's like saying "well you realize in 1985..." Back in 2005.

(The 2000s have been a blur for me time wise too)

I often times wonder if an extraterrestrial threat would be a unifying factor or if people would still be selfish unless it affected them. The pandemic was the closest we've seen to a world level threat recently and it just increased selfishness IMO (at least in the US)

Was just watching Jack Ryan Season 3 and seeing the display of force and their movements causes some interesting dissonance given what we know now.

So I'm gonna add something here... It annoys me that managers can't form or be part of a union. Far too often low and mid level managers and supervisors get shit on just as much and have to parrot the company line coming from the higher ups that are trying to push it. I wish they could be better empowered too.

So when first launching Sync, it has a default of anonymous browsing on lemmy.world and then you can add an account for any instance you have a log in on. Is there a way to add anonymous accounts on other instances so you can browse their local communities without posting?

Does someone know why Cathay Pacific and other airlines use different codes for airplanes than what Boeing has listed? For example they list a 777-367 which seems to be a variant of the 777-300 but I can't find any information on what makes it a 367 vs a 300. Is that just the code that CX uses for the 777-300s they own? I also notice they have odd ones like A321-251NX, A330-343X and such. So what do those non-normal model numbers mean?
