This. Your downstair neighbors will be able to hear the kick drum pedal through the ceiling. They will he able to hear the compressor of the power washer as well.

It thought that Vegas was an abomination, a testament to the vanity of mankind but that book made me understand that Phoenix has twice as many people, is bigger though sure, is a little wetter on average and should hold that title.

How is this one of the cheapest cities to live in in the US? Why are we moving the micro chip industry there?

I do believe that a lot of aspects of The Ministry for the Future by K.S. Robinson have chances of becoming true.

The deadly heatwave in south Asia, governments going rogue and playing with geo engineering on their own, climate refugee camps and the general sense of too little too late.

But the book is fairly optimistic, so hopefully, people of the world getting together and accepting a new paradigm will come to be true.

This is exactly how Rep. Pelosi is going to run again unopposed in two years

She got sacked over the fact that she doesn’t oppose incumbents being primaried… In find it so ironic that a party labeled as democratic refuses the simple act of choosing leaders via popular vote…

One issue Ocasio-Cortez had to confront was her past support for primary challengers to incumbent House Democrats — a sore subject for many lawmakers.

Yes this! I’ve been watching Bernie speak up about this. So far though, it’s just talk. Ranting. I’m looking forward to see what his plan of action is. I think gearing up towards a general strike, or threat thereof, is the only really tool we have given the incoming admin.

It’s based on my experience (i.e. out of my ass). So no data to share. Maybe I have selective bias and all the people I hangout with look the same. But in my community it does feel like the gym is a very important third place.

Hello. I’m pretty new here. I just managed to get my Raspberry Pi setup at home to selfhost a simple website that will act as my portfolio for some art I do.

I’m using WordPress to make the content of the website, meaning it runs on Apache, MariaDB and MySQL in the background. It’s connected via port 80 since I don’t want to pay for SSL certificates to setup https. There will be no accounts or transactions happening on my website. I don’t have anything to manage my dynamic IP but I’ll figure that out later. I’ve deleted the default Pi user on the RPi.

Are there security issues I should address preemptively? I’m worried for instance that I am exposing my home network, making it easier for someone to breach into whatever is connected there.

Any tips on making sure my setup is secure?
