lol I love the look of it, made me want to get used to 35 keys just to justify building it.

They feel great in MJF, I really like the texture

Yup all MJF I love the look and feel. Yours looks great, I like how light this came out though. Yup ZMK with Nice Nano’s 3.5 has pointer support and a great community member just released a driver for the PMW3610

I was at a similar place with colemak-dh plus a swap to ergo. Stuck at 60 wpm for a while. I stopped testing for a few months just typing for work and then did a test and hit 80WPM I think 60 shows good comfort and then just more time you’ll get faster

Yo, how’d the build go? You get parts in yet?

I’ve got VIA support setup on my Cheapino following this guide https://youtu.be/7d5yzBOup9U?si=536t5RkniwjCJWkI

Looks like he’s also got a guide for VIAL https://youtu.be/O8pdUPqPG3k?si=BlbiXmcjtrzZ-2WO

Did you order enough PCBs for 5 keyboards or 5 pcbs? Because 5pcbs will only be enough for 2 keyboards.. As for cost I do not know. The convenience of being able to buy something assembled I think is worth a lot tbh

I’m glad to hear it. Linux in general has gotten way better in that regard. I haven’t had to fix any driver issues in years just install and it works.

PopOS is definitely a great first choice distribution. I would recommend Linux Mint over it for people coming from windows who wants something rock solid with a great community

I would love to see your keymap. I was looking at building a rommana but I just couldn’t get a good 30 key layout. 34-36 just feels like a sweet spot, but reducing movement on my pinkies and reaching in with pointer is really tempting me….

Yeah I think the Voyager has really set a great product. I wouldn’t use all the keys 34-36 seems like the sweet spot for me, but the polished buy it and start typing is really great. Happy to hear you are happy, if I had the cash I’d love to try one.

It’s a great first build and first ergo. That was my experience as well. Good luck! Shoot me a dm if that is a thing on lemmy and I’d be happy to help you, discord as well if that’s better 👍
