i guess most of us dont know a lot about the whole fediverse stuff. but the longer you are here, the more you will learn about it. so far, it's pretty interesting!
we could prevent spam and low effort posts if whe had rules like "x amount of karma to post" allthough its more of a burden for new users to post if its set too high and right now, there is no need for such a system. at that point i think its better to leave it as it is and introduce an improved karma like system in the future i guess.
Well, karma itself isnt a bad idea in my opinion, but making it visible to others isnt. Making it hidden will stop the karmafarming.
Lemmy will definetly last! I hope so at least. it might never go mainstream, but that a good thing.
