My first was the HTC Dream (G1) followed by the Motorola Droid - still miss their form factor before everything became the black slab.

Maybe but when those same people are typing about their self-diagnosis from an iPhone 15 Pro whilst complaining they cannot afford $900 for a diagnosis?

Yeah….ok…..

People do things if they really really want to regardless of cost….funny how that works 🤷🏼‍♀️

And if you don’t want the “negatives” that come with diagnosis around other areas of life where you may be discriminated against as a result of said diagnosis, well too bad and welcome to the real world where the rest of us have to live - you don’t really have the same lived experience if you think that about an actual diagnosis then….and you will never understand what it’s like to actually be discriminated against for having said diagnosis…but what would I know…..I’ve only been a diagnosed autistic since I was 12 so I didn’t get the memo I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am an Aerospace Engineer (I was an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer by trade prior to going to University) and I have spent the last 30 years in the airline industry….it isn’t as bad as you are allegedly making it out to be….pilots are not engineers either…..

Experience from the 60’s and 70’s isn’t really relevant to today’s industry- I started in the early 90’s and it’s massively different today from back then….so your point is?

I am also based in Australia so that might also make a bit of a difference because we have had no airline crashes in this country and we have a very strict Potentially Unwanted Parts (PUP’s) system and other checks and balances that because we are under EASA based regulations and not FAA ones (who, by the way allowed the PMA part system….where parts are no longer required to be manufactured by the OEM for aircraft….and I’ve got plenty of stories about that nonsense…)

So yeah…. I quite happily still fly everywhere around the world….

They are actually paid $25 an hour here in Australia- how is that only “gig money”?

Again, tipping is not a thing in Australia and should never be expected by drivers who actually choose to do this sort of work….

Oh that’s amazing!

The 80’s were certainly a different time. Especially when only allowed to access a computer at school for a few minutes in the day (Apple IIe) so all of us could “have a go at the computer in the library”!

I would never have imagined as a kid what it was going to be like today with smartphones and the internet everywhere….

We get asked for tips here in Australia where we have a minimum wage and no tipping culture - it’s rubbish because we don’t need to subsidise people’s income at all, but the app doesn’t differentiate countries customs it seems. Uber’s apps are the same always asking for tips despite minimum wage….

Ooh! I had a ZX-81 with a 16k ram pack on it (and cassette recorder to save with!) as a kid haha….god I’m old!!

Well lucky I am a woman then and personally don’t think my lady parts are offended at all….

Irony?

Since Musk is allegedly about “free speech” - but obviously only if it suits him and your handle isn’t something he wants…

In regards to that twats tweet regarding the “the Australian people” - as a member of “the Australian people” I want to put it on record that that asshat does not speak for many of us here…..some of us are pleased about this (the ABC app is a far better source of news without the rubbish and downright unintelligent comments that come from posting articles on social media anyway….)

Around 2002 when I tried Ubuntu for the first time on an old Dell laptop.

I only tried it initially as I was bored with Windows UI and liked the look of Linux. Used Linux ever since on and off.

Spotify Premium - because firstly don't care about paying for it as I use it literally every single day and after using it for nearly 10 years the algorithms are perfect when it comes to music recommendations - plus it has a better catalogue as I listen to some pretty obscure non-mainstream dance and jazz/funk music. As for the UI it's fine as I guess I am used to it. As for music sound quality - if I want music sound quality I will listen to my CD collection but for streaming via Bluetooth buds out and about with ANC it's a moot point really....
