i'm not entirely sure about standalone synths, but a small DIY portable modular rig is just about right, i think. it's just "one" synth, but i can repatch and reprogram depending on what i'm trying to get out of it

i might have a workaround for this, depending on why it's happening for you. v0.0.35 is too new for blahaj, currently, so i tried v0.0.34 on f-droid, but hit the same wall as you
the crashes seem to relate to jerboa trying to load whatever its default instance is, so i turned off my data and wifi, and opened jerboa, navigating to the add account screen.
after i'd added in my credentials, i quickly turned on data/wifi on my phone and submutted the form, and now i'm logged in and jerboa works like a charm
idk if it'll work for you, but it might be worth a shot
