OSMand has a feature where it can process other info as tiles on top of the base openstreetmap data it downloads, so what I did was pulling satellite and live traffic data from google and make them work as tiles and it works perfect (although it doesnt take traffic data into consideration when routing, it only shows it as a picture on top of the map, doesn't bother me).

Definetly some sort of all-in-one place client centralization feed (like cats/dogs/cute animal pics in one place, all my linux and general tech in another, etc). Like a mini reddit, but client side, so it doesn't interfere with the decentralization stuff going on.

Rn the state of Infinity for Lemmy feels mostly complete (aside from a few expected bugs built from being a fork working with a totally different API), but besides that, the app is absolutely fire. I was a heavy IfR user in the past and it even convinced me to make an account (I was mostly a lurker) but when spez starting treating 3rd party devs like shit I gtfo there, just hoping that docille or another dev would have forked infinity and yet, here we are.

Well, first I would like to adress the elephant in the room. Samsung/Google Pixel is not in it's entirety Android. There are lots of other brands out there, each and every one of them offers different things to different people who ask for different features.

About what you're asking for, can't actually help with group chats (the US has a culturally attachment to iMessage, which is locked down to iOS), but for iCloud well, you can have your stuff in google drive, or on a offline drive (most of modern android have otg capabilities), or even selfhosted if that's your kind of thing.

Seriously, give it a try and see for yourself how mature now is the OS and ofc see if you're staying ;)

What about Lemonade? Seems kinda similar to Lemmy and it gives a quite new and refreshing look into the project * wink *. It also gives some autonomy over other projects (as some of them keep the space theme, this one can look into other branches)

About the logo, and still talking about the lemonade thing, something along the line of a glass of, well, lemonade (what a shocker huh). Here's a terrible rough idea I made

Still, hoping the lemmings can find of even better ideas and to keep developing this project even further :)

What was your first reaction to the massive exodus from Reddit during the blackout? Was it something you were expecting?

This, in conjunction with OrganicMaps/Osmand is god.

Just started using the app. Coming from og Infinity just feels like I'm home. Quick suggestion, can an option to toggle between app's name and account's username in use? This can be helpful for people with several accounts across other Lemmy's instances.

Select the app > hit the pencil icon left below > Toggle on the include prereleases option

Using IfL rn. Feels just as right as og Infinity (which I solely used during my time on Reddit), no unpolished experience as of UI, but I'm expecting to see some bugs and inconviences as usual (as of writing I'm using v0.0.8) but let's be real guys, Rome wasn't build in a day.

Feels absolutely on par with Liftoff (v0.10.10), and Jerboa (v0.0.42), which pretty much sets my happily permanently staying on Lemmy.
