Parking lots that are only close to full on Black Friday and Christmas Eve.

A lot of red voters in those parts. This is getting harder and harder to ignore or dismiss.

The good news is, they will start to feel it. Fix this shit now is becoming more and more mainstream. Just wait until sea rise consumes their costal mansions. Just wait until a hurricane destroys their self insured Manhattan sky scraper. Just wait until an EF5 tornado wrecks their middle of nowhere mansion. We won't be waiting long.

I do when it is advertising something I hate. Publishers get dollars for clicks, pennies for impressions. That way I force someone I dislike to give money to someone I like.

You know, I bet oil companies would try to sell a transatlantic truck tunnel as being good for the environment and cost effective way to transport stuff.

Across the ocean?

That is the whole point of the study. People support measures but think people don't.

Stop buying shit. Consumption = Emissions. Drive as little as possible. Cars = Emissions. Adjust your thermostat. HVAC = emissions. Eat less beef. Corn fed moo=methane. Buy shit with a buy it for life mentality. Get involved with your local urban planning and zoning. Everyone can do all of that right now.

Down the road, vote for the most climate friendly candidates. Run for office if you can.

This is great news IMO. The more painful real affects of the climate crisis hits the US, the more real it gets, hopefully driving action.

In this case we get a double whammy of reduced consumption and pain.

I agree, just answering the question for those outside the US.

I know a lot of folks advocate a plant based diet. I don't think large portions of the US will be willing to do that. I think it is an easy sell to eat less beef and more other meats because it is cheaper and not a major diet change.

Now if we can get people to order online and go in instead of drive thrus....it is usually a lot faster too. Drive thrus suck because there is always someone who wants extra ketchup, exactly two pickles, 3 onion slices, half a cheese slice, and one drop of mayo.
