Exactly! But some people won't understand it anyway

Yes. I use Google because it gives me the best results of all the FOSS (but shitty) search engines I've tested. I won't change the tools in my workflow until the replacements work the same or better.

The Pixel 4a was released in August 2020 with a declared support period of 3 years (until August 2023).

Now it's 2025, which means 5 years have passed. I don't see anything weird here.

There are several of them and they come pre-installed with uBlock but you have to tick the checkbox next to each of them to activate them. They are located in the “Cookie notices” category.

P.S. I also suggest ticking off all the lists in the “Annoyances” category 🙂

Installing an operating system and enabling encryption won't overwrite the data on the entire disk. Instead, it will only overwrite on the specific sectors on which this operating system was installed.

Other "previous" data on the disk will remain intact and unaffected.

That's nice you're mentioning SimpleX but its design is way too complicated compared to alternatives (e.g. Signal) that no one will use it.

Even as a tech-savvy person, I was shocked that I have to scan a QR code to chat. I can't imagine how it feels for non-tech people.

As a result, who will you actually chat with? 🙂

SOLVED

Edit: Solved using workaround of creating a systemd service that disables GPP0 wakeup: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=364220&start=20

Hey everyone!

The suspend feature has never worked on my system, so I always turned it off in the settings. But now, with the electricity prices going up in my country (we have the most expensive electricity in Europe, lol), I figured it’s a good time to tackle this.

When the system tries to go into sleep mode, it just wakes up right away, and the monitors don’t show anything (no signal). I’ve got a backlit keyboard and an RGB mouse, but they don’t light up during this, and the caps lock key doesn’t respond when I press it.

I’m on kernel 6.12.7 and I updated the BIOS a few days ago, but the problem is still there.

My hardware:

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
  • MOBO: GIGABYTE B550 GAMING X V2 (rev. 1.3)
  • GPU: RX 6700 XT
  • PSU: SilentiumPC Supremo M2 (600W I guess?)
  • CASE: be quiet! Pure Base DX500

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would really appreciate your help!

Is it about popularity? The publisher of the game? Or maybe the quality?

Hi I wanted to know if anyone here is using Standard Notes (https://standardnotes.com/) as their daily driver for taking notes.

Is it fully open source (the server and the client)? How well does it work for note-taking?

"The reason is a combination of Google making Play publishing something between hard and impossible and no active maintenance. The app saw no significant development for a long time and without Play releases I do no longer see enough benefit and/or have enough motivation to keep up the ongoing maintenance an app requires even without doing much, if any, changes."

Hi, I am looking for a self hosted calendar where I can add and edit events and then embed it on my public website for everyone to see.

I ask completely seriously.

As far as I know, the whole project is open source and is not as invasive as Xitter

Reaching this #QTCC 2024 milestone is no small feat, Tenno!

Log in between November 1 at 2 p.m. ET and November 15 at 2 p.m. ET and complete a Tenno United Alert to receive three built Forma as thanks!

I used to know an EDM song, and now I found it in one of the mashup mixes on YouTube (0:22 to 0:36).

It was mixed with Barbie Girl by Aqua vocals so I cleaned it up a bit with the tools available online so I could give it to Shazam (otherwise recognized it as Barbie Girl), but unfortunately it couldn't identify this piece 😔

I know that pushing a commit with an API key is something for which a developer should have his balls cut off, but...

...I'm wondering what I should do if, somehow, I accidentally commit an API key or other sensitive information, an environment variable to the repo.

Should I just revoke the access and leave it as is, or maybe locally remove this commit and force-push a new one without the key? How do you guys handle this situation in a professional environment?

Hi, I am planning to purchase a 2.5-inch HDD. If I connect it to my computer using a SATA to USB adapter instead of directly to the computer's SATA, can it somehow affect the result of this scan?

I apologize for my ignorance but I couldn't find an answer to this question anywhere
