Yes I am aware. I wanted there to be another community on lemmy.world as it is my preferred "general" instance to lemmy.ml. If in the future /c/[email protected] grows as the de-facto "main" math community in the federation then I will consider redirecting posters from here to there. As of now though there's not much activity in either.
From what I hear it's always sounded like Navier and Yang-Mills are closest, P vs NP and Riemann are furthest, while Hodge and Swinnerton-Dyer people don't really talk about at all outside circles of hardcore algebraic geometers/topologists
yep this is the claim and the case, but it is the why that is so tough!
This is also the case for c/metal, and I assume other communities as well.
