I agree.... definitely needs more funding.... and the thing is, there are actually treatments for heroin (unlike meth) so it seems crazy to not invest more into the system so it works better and more people can get treatment if they want it.
mishellaneous
Methadone / pharmacotherapy is something that needs to be individualised, so there is a need for more doctors (and perhaps nurse practitioners) to be able to engage with patients to find what will suit them . The article makes mention of this.... unfortunately there is so much stigma associated with heroin use that few medical practitioners want to take it on, and also many pharmacists don't necessarily want to be part of dispensing methadone.
Hahaha, yeah bit of a lurker unless I've got something to say 😉 I think the name of the album was shooting rubber bands at the stars...? Really cool name
Such a good song!!! From memory the whole album was pretty good....
These look amazing!! I didn't know these existed in Victoria - thank you!! (Now to find that $100 I also don't need lol) Edit whoops $1000
I'm a newbie sewist, and this week I finally sewed with jersey fabric!!! It was just a simple dolman sleeve top, but I feel I've overcome a mental hurdle because it turned out fine!! Now at some stage I have a jumpsuit to attempt in the same fabric.....
Back in the late 80s there was an all woman band called The Wet Ones, and yes they did a tour with The Hard Ons
Thanks for posting, that's a great article!!! I'm not quite that old lol, but another band you should check out are the Celibate Rifles... They started around 1979/1980, and played live right up until around 2018 (sadly, their singer Damian Lovelock died in 2019... He was also part of the soccer broadcast team on SBS) Anyhoo.... Celibate Rifles were awesome... Lots of their stuff on YouTube
A person who was actually on that bus posted on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/melbourne/comments/14vqcgo/the_232_bus_i_was_on_earlier_blew_up_on_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=1 Sounds like it was very lucky that there weren't many people on the bus... Terrifying!!
Definitely second the Corinne Chapman series by Kerry Greenwood, so good!!! Also, if you like mysteries with some humour, 'Brunswuck Street Blues' by Sally Bothroyd was really enjoyable. Highly recommend
I signed up through Lemmy world and there's been lots of issues with some of the apps...(I also signed up through Aussie zone too cos I was confused, but have mainly used the Lemmy world one to comment). I think you're right and it probs has alot to do with the large influx of users... (& I also have 'pending subscriptions...)
I've found Evelyn Wood 's videos on YouTube really informative and helpful. Also, depending on what you want to sew, some independent pattern companies have really good pattern instructions that are beginner friendly. Some will also have videos to go along with it too. There's lots of sewing stuff on the internet, whether it be basic instructions, free patterns etc etc. Lots of resources!
