I live out in a (relatively speaking) smaller city in Texas. We don’t have public transportation here.

Also, I like to be able to do things on my own schedule. A long time ago I lived in a city with a bus presence and had to take the bus when my car broke down and it took several hours longer round trip than I would have been able to do what I needed to do in my car.

You do have to create another account if you want to move to a new instance, yeah.

Hi, I’m replying from Lemmy.

It could be the communities (magazines) I’m in, but I haven’t seen anything acting that way (with the exception of some instance overloads that caused federation issues during the first wave of Rexxit earlier this week).

I can’t say if maybe there are some issues in certain communities where that’s happening.

I think since lemmy.world is so stable and didn’t have (many) issues when the signup spikes were happening a lot of former Redditors ended up here. lemmy.ml is run by the developers.

Because of the way it all works, and because we can interact with everything we’re federated with, we’re pretty free to choose the best instance for us or even create our own if we wanted to.

That is so exciting, all of us playing together in here is such a cool concept.

I don’t think anyone has a problem with a business trying to make money. The problem is the extortionate pricing and also not having things in place for mods or the communities with accessibility needs. And the timeframe in which the change is being implemented is ludicrous. And that isn’t even touching on the literal libel stating that Christian was blackmailing them.

Got it downloaded. Looks great. I see there’s going to be an update to be able to scroll my subscribed feed instead of all, looking forward to it.

I think I’m scarred for life from the Swamps of Dagobah. And I can’t look at coconuts anymore.

I wasn’t fond of the UI on kbin so I can over here. I know a lot of communities moved over there from Reddit so once they federate again I might join some of those communities but I’m enjoying the communities and content here and don’t really miss anything.

Sure thing, once it’s up I’ll def get a lot of play from me. I’m not too fond of the Safari experience and really dig the Apollo esque look.

Once it becomes available I’ll happily test it, the videos look great.

Question - does it happen to have dark mode (either matching system or a toggle)? The all white is a bit much for me personally but I’ll test it all the same.

https://lemmy.world/c/therewasanattempt would probably appreciate this and it’s so new there’s nothing there yet.
