Since Lemmy and Kbin are federating now, maybe you’ll find something in line with what you’re looking for, like maybe https://lemmy.world/c/motorcycles would work for you. :)

Edit: As per notation, [email protected] or @[email protected] should be better formatting.

I still have premium through the end of August, while they’re not getting ad revenue from me I have a little time to go gather and archive things I might want (I saved one resource right before the sub it was from went permanently dark but I haven’t had a chance to make sure I have everything else I wanted) and then I probably won’t be back.

And, for interest, I bought premium because I was using a 3PA and knew they weren’t making money off of me so I thought it was fair back when I was interested in supporting the site.

https://lemmy.world/c/kidsbeingderps has a similar idea as r/kidsarefuckingstupid as per the sidebar.

There’s also an unexpected on lemmy.ml but it’s dead so maybe someone with a bunch of good videos/gifs can start to populate it or make a new one here.

How are you viewing? On Lemmy in the instance I’m in I can sort comments by hot, top, new and old on the web and I can sort by top, new and active via Mlem (iOS beta app).

I use memos to mark inflows and outflows on my off budget but still synced investment account. I also have quarterly supplemental insurance policies that I have the transaction name as the company but the memo is the policy number. Other than that, I don’t get that granular with it.

If they start inserting ads in videos I’m watching even though I literally pay them not to, I’ll be more than just mildly infuriated.

I have 2 with the idea that if my home instance went down I’d still be able to see what’s going on. Not that I’m concerned about a mass failure, more for like server maintenance downtimes.

There are a couple Reddit centric communities out there, and since this community is supposed to be more about the lemmy.world instance in particular Reddit doesn’t really fit. I think that’s what they’re trying to do.

There’s https://lemmy.ml/c/reddit and https://lemmy.ml/c/snoocalypse and https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration and a good handful of others where those kinds of posts would probably be more appropriate.

The only thing I’ve used it for was a hardware fail after warranty but before Apple Care was up so yeah, it’s like do I want to pay for it up front or just wait and see. I don’t love bulky cases and I’m not hard on my electronics but I’m also clumsy as all hell so it’s more of a peace of mind thing.

Case, screen protector, and AppleCare+

Case because I like the way my case feels over just metal, and screen protector because my phone sometimes ends up in the same pocket as my keys and I don’t want to end up with micro scrapes. Additionally, one time I pushed off of some rocks I was sitting on and my phone was face down and I shattered my screen protector but my phone’s glass was fine.

I’ve only ever actually used Apple Care once and it was because I got a battery service needed alert about a month before care was going to expire so I got a free replacement phone - it was in the middle of COVID closures too so they mailed me a new phone and I mailed them my old one. I could probably get by without it but I’m paranoid that the time I skip it will be the time I shatter my phone before I’m ready to upgrade.

Yeah, it’s a new instance and a lot of new people coming in from Reddit so it’s slipping threw the cracks. Just because the whole instance is NSFW doesn’t mean all of the communities are correctly being marked. It’s probably user error more than anything else.

I personally don’t really care, but I do have NSFW blocked in case I’m scrolling in public and I have been surprised by dicks a few times.
