Ads are...already a thing. Shit like putting candy crush which allows you to spend real money to pay to win. Search suggestions in the start menu. The app store is an attempt at an Apple style money grab except the money grab only exists on the apple side because its the only way to get apps on the machine and MS never got much out its store in comparison.

Ads and subscriptions would already have happened if they had succeeded in using secure boot to lock machines out of alternative OS

Obsoleting a lot of relatively recent fast hardware means people are either faced with a fuck off or complicated work arounds. Then there is forcing people to log in with their MS email account which they may not have or want or again forcing people into complicated work arounds. The implicit privacy issues of recall if it was rolled out as planned.

Ads in the windows UI both exiting and planned. The fact that they have discussed the idea of making Windows a monthly/annual fee.

Then the carry overs from 10 The fact that the start menu search is less useful than any linux DE or windows XP Re-enabling crap that people disabled on purpose Certain kinds of links opening in Edge even if people use chrome

Nobody cares. If we could make it free and easy enough it would stop being useful at suppressing the vote and Republicans would lose all interest and Democrats already don't care.

Anything which requires action in all 50 states and the government giving up a source of revenue and overhauling complicated systems couldn't be completed this century. While we are at it though I would like a hardware security key handed out with your ID as a second form of ID and required for any sort of large purchase like a car, or opening a line of credit.

My concern twofold

A: Without evidence I have a hard time seeing planting bombs in devices was solely targeted at fighters. Odds are an entire shipment was targeted and many people who weren't Hezbollah received bombs

B: Blowing up devices that were by definition carried everywhere certainly killed families and associates who didn't deserve to die.

During the Iraqi war we considered Iraqi leadership targets and I wouldn't have been surprised if they considered our leadership targets as well. If they had in fact only killed Hezbollah I would have no problem with the attack.

Which is what I suggested they continue to use but for those who are concerned about privacy by default I would still suggest something in between.

I use plain old firefox there are few sites that require chromium. I have noticed that enhanced tracking protection and adblock can both break some sites. Whether it makes sense to turn them off or use a different site depends on the site.

Someone should ship librewolf with less stupid defaults

Reports of its death are GREATLY exaggerated. I would suggest continuing to simply use firefox and disable any future crap you don't prefer.

That said librewolf which is intended to be firefox with stronger privacy settings by default that said

  • Default settings break more websites
  • You have to get extensions manually from for instance github because it doesn't use mozillas addon (it can probably be enabled)
  • It doesn't use the built in password manager which is in fact privacy preserving so you have to enable it or use something else
  • you don't get syncing via firefox sync which is in fact already privacy preserving so you have to enable it if you want it
  • It doesn't remember cookies without manually adding an exception to each site this is extremely obnoxious. I'm sure its configurable though

At this time it is far easier to disable the few things that may be undesired from firefox vs turning librewolf into an acceptable option.

Because Harris is both Black and Indian heritage and curry and fried chicken are the two foods most stereotypically associated with each aspect of her heritage. It's not like he picked two random foods.

Did the motherfucker forget to add watermelon to the list? It's amazing that even when he isn't trying the racism just flows out like spit dripping down his lip

Male or female vs man or woman are just adjectives vs nouns they both used to reference both gender. Using one for sex and the other for gender is simply inaccurate. This is why one may say that someone is a transgender woman but one never hears that someone is a male woman unless its M A I L woman.
