Welcome to modern media, where nothing is new and everything is a "reboot" or a "sequel". you'll get regurgitated slop passed between a few media conglomerates and if anything actually ends up decent it'll be canned and wiped from the earth before anyone can see it.

I'd recommend the Explaining Computers videos on RV over LTT, especially since the guy at EC does a lot more research into RISC-V, and does yearly "state of RISC-V" videos.
I installed mint and zorin on virtual machines (theyre easy to set up in windows with virtualbox) and then just put them fullscreen and used em like my actual computer for a bit. Very useful for learning stuff without the commitment of a proper install.

It's in testing and/or sid atm but the keepass dev has argued back and forth with the debian maintainer who basically just said "suck it up buttercup" and refused to change back, so it'll cause a lot of fun times once it lands in the next debian release lol
I've not tried netboot yet but that might also be a cool option for people who like to install new ISOs often. Ventoy gang for life, tho
Fair dos. In general I'm in the camp that proprietary software using open software isn't as bad as them using exclusively proprietary code, but enforcing has always been pretty hard so I've never been one to complain when people do libre-forks of stuff.
That being said, I did see post a while back that was a great example of what's possible under the best case scenario!
