The most bizarre experience of my life is something that happened to me when I was 27 years old. It was one of my first gigs as a keyboard player in 1975. I was walking into a big club carrying my mic stand and my amp head. As I entered there was a young man just inside the door in a beige trench coat and holding a suitcase. It had recently rained but it was still an odd sight for a dance club. As I crossed the dance floor time stopped. It was like in a dream sequence and as if someone outside of time and space pressed pause on a video. Then a voice inside my head said, "This is Paul. He will be your business partner in the future. You are entering a dark time in your life. Never lose sight of where you are destined to go." Then time resumed. I turned around. The young man was exiting the door. I quickly put my equipment on the stage and ran outside, but he was no where in sight. He had been talking to a waitress as I had entered. I asked her who had she been talking to. She said " All I know is that he said his name was Paul" and said she had to get back to work. I wasn't high, drunk, or anything. I have yet to meet "Paul" and my one experience in Astral Projection was similar to that experience, but I was moving then. So my question is "Has anyone ever heard of time suddenly stopping?" I've Googled this kind of experience but found nothing like it. Please let me know if you have ever heard of this.

I tried this once. I bought a book on astral projection. I didn’t want to use drugs to achieve this, and I’m not someone who just experienced it naturally. The advice said that you usually leave your body through your head, chest, or your feet. I spent many nights concentrating and trying to leave my body. Then one day while I was at home with a couple of friends playing pool, I drifted off to sleep on my couch for a second, (or so it would have seemed to my friends.) I didn’t gently float off from my body and then look down at it to perhaps become scared, (which sometimes happens so I’m told.) Like the rest of my life, it was very different for me. I exploded from my body, and I couldn’t tell you from what spot. I was propelled at an incredible rate of speed! It was like being strapped to the head of a bullet! I was repulsed that my “astral body” had no real shape or form. It was like I was some sort of electricity, like what you see in an electric arc of a Telsa coil. I was speeding towards the far side of the thirty-foot-long room I was in. I knew that when I reached that wall, I would pass right through it. My thoughts were “ghost-like” or at least that’s the best I can describe it. I thought, “Who am I?”, “What am I?”, and although I could see everything in the room, I was in another “dimension”, a place I had been before, but that’s another long story. As I mentioned my life has been “different.” Twice in my life, I’ve had an unexplained experience. Time has stopped. It was like someone pressed pause on the video. If someone was watching me, they would have noticed nothing. I would just have been walking across a room, but for me, the whole video froze. The place I was in was like being in some kind of dream sequence in a movie. Both times there was this low gong of a bell, (the sound a buoy makes on the sea in the distance on a foggy night.) It was as if when you hit this large bell, it stopped time itself. Both times ‘someone’ spoke to me, not aloud, but in my mind. I don’t know if it was God, speaking to me, but whoever it was isn’t trapped in time. This voice came from outside of time. As I sped toward the wall during my astral projection, I was there in that place, and this time I could hear other things. There was no voice talking to me, but I could hear the rattling of chains. I call this “dimension” the land of the dead. It’s outside of time, but it’s here occupying the same “space” we’re in. Call them ghosts, entities, or whatever you choose, but it’s not unoccupied. I could hear that low gong of a bell and this time; I realized that I didn’t know enough about this “place.” I had the distinct feeling that this was a dangerous place. It was like diving into the ocean, and who knows what kind of fish are swimming about there. I was reaching the wall on the far side of the room, and I knew I’d pass right through it, and that I could go anywhere t the speed of thought. I pondered: “Where should I go?”, “What should I do?” Then I thought: “This is dangerous. I want to go back.” And with that thought, ‘bam’ I was back in my body. I awoke from that brief experience as if I had just nodded off for a second. I had read that your astral body is attached to your physical body by a “silver thread” and if that thread is broken, you die.
I know I could experience astral projection again if I wanted to. But, until I’m ready to actually be prepared to risk dying, I don’t want to chance it. First, I need to know what kind of weapons I can take with me to play that kind of ‘video game.’ The “land of the dead” is nothing like Disney Land to take a trip to, just for fun!
