Theres 1337x, but otherwise I would look for a private tracker holding open signups.

I mean realistically they probably do know that. They just frantically do not want to be associated with anything perceived as gay, to a comical degree.

You love to see it!

I feel as though that's a bit reductive and not really the energy we should be bringing to a discussion. I'm not necessarily saying you're not right in a lot of cases, but it could be seen as disparaging to some.

It's kind of unrelated but I think the lack of downvotes pairs well with lemmy's lack of vote counting (a.k.a karma score). Counting your internet points always feels so performative to me and kinda ruins the point of upvotes in the first place.

It seems that Digital Ocean is considered relatively expensive actually.

Though I hear it has good support and it's very easy to use. I can't speak on how much AWS costs though, I'm unsure and don't like supporting amazon regardless.

This is fascinating, but I'm having a hard time grasping something. The title and article mentions that porn addiction itself is not backed by science, but the findings seem to just indicate what the most common predictor for porn addiction is religiosity rather than the previously theorized availability through the internet. Am I misunderstanding something here? I think I'll give it another read...

The Hotline Miami series and Katana Zero really stand out to me. Hollow knight and Persona are also fantastic.

Beehaw.org is run off Digital Ocean, they currently have 16 vCPUs and 32 gigs of ram. They plan on hopefully scaling back down once the whole reddit migration situation has calmed down.

Just need to be aware that there is no native way to play this on pc. However retroarch/emulationstation runs great on linux.

Backpack hero is very cute and fun, and runs very well through proton.

Love David Graeber's work. Bullshit Jobs is iconic.

The Anarchist Library (theanarchistlibrary.org)

This isn't any article in particular, but rather a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to research leftist theory, or improve their praxis.

Disregard the name as it is a wealth of knowledge for socialists, anarchists and communists alike. I'm sure many here have learnt about this free and open library in the past, but just in case it's the first some have heard of it, I thought I'd share.

Hi luckless here :)

I figured I should make a little introduction as I've been given the opportunity to help this little slice of beehaw.org flourish as a space for engaging conversation free from bigotry.

I'll try to contribute some interesting articles I find myself as well. I have a particular interest in anything related culture and sociology, though I love reading about things I've never heard of, which I think this community is perfect for!

Hope to see you all around!

Some really nice music by this guy, I think everyone should give him a listen at least once. His music tends to drift between indie and psych pop/rock and the lyrics blend his eastern and western influences really beautifully.

With dozens of fires raging across Ontario, Canada, it's interesting to see it sparking discussions on global warming not only locally, but over the border and beyond as well.

Unfortuntately our MPP Doug Ford cut the Ontario Emergency Forest Firefighting fund by 67% back in 2019 (https://budget.ontario.ca/2019/chapter-3.html#t3-11 chapter 3 under Natural Resources and Forestry) so we're in a really bad spot in terms of being able to deal with this situation.
