I think this does more good for reddit than bad, makes the community look unhinged

This is !lemmyworld, which you can think of like the equivalent of a subreddit, so posts in here should be related to lemmy.world itself. :)

It's tricky because beehaw accounts for 13 of the top 50 communities across the fediverse and have become the de facto gaming/tech/news destination.
