Afaik I can't remove the storage. At least that's what I'm reading online. I suppose I could crack it open and find out, but I'm nervous to do so in case it is stolen and we're blamed for any tampering. Idk maybe I'm being paranoid, I just don't want my dad to get in trouble for trying to do something nice for me.

Thank you for the advice though, I appreciate it.

Yeah it's all a bit sketchy, if we can't get this figured out I will help him do so. I think he used a debit card unfortunately, so I don't think he can get the money back. I'll have to ask him and make sure.

This fucking sucks.

We've asked, they are not responding. I guess it could be stolen but what I meant to say is that my dad/I did not steal the laptop. Apologies for any confusion.

No, there is no concern that the term limit will be removed or expanded. It hasn't happened since the amendment was ratified, even after multiple attempts from politicians of various rank and from each party.

There are plenty of things to be concerned about, but the "trump will become the life long leader of the United States in his presidency" rhetoric is stupid and unfounded.

Nixon couldn't do it, truman couldn't do it, trump is not as competent or capable as either of these presidents. It will not happen. This is literally the same shit republicans used to say about Obama and it didn't happen then.

He would have to convince 3/4s of the states in both the house of representatives and Congress to ratify, and there is no way he could do that.

I understand where you're coming from, but I still don't think it's anyone's right to tell me or anyone else that they are obligated to vote for any president.

Vote for everything else, vote in your local elections. That's what changes things. But I don't believe it's my duty to vote for one of two pieces of shit every election just because of some screeching fucking retards on the Internet.

So you're not going to provide any context at all? I'm not going to give you your answer for you.

Tell me what leaps you are referring to so that I can better educate myself, or fuck off. It is truly that simple.

According to the idf Israel removed themselves in 2005. But this is under heavy scrutiny from various human rights organizations.

"The United Nations, international human rights organizations and many legal scholars regard the Gaza Strip to still be under military occupation by Israel.[5] This is disputed by Israel and other legal scholars.[75] They argue that occupation requires an actual, physical presence by a military force that maintains authority.

Following the withdrawal, Israel continued to maintain direct control over Gaza's air and maritime space, six of Gaza's seven land crossings, maintains a no-go buffer zone within the territory, controls the Palestinian population registry, and Gaza remains dependent on Israel for its water, electricity, telecommunications, and other utilities."

What leaps are you referring to?

Yeah I feel like people misunderstand what I'm saying as though I'm considering voting for trump. I'm not at all. I'm just trying to figure out how well voting for Biden sits on my conscience, or if id rather write in daffy duck this year.

Trump is not on the menu for me, and I feel like I've made that fairly clear but not once talking about voting for him.

[–] licherally 1 points 11 months ago

The president is a figurehead regardless of who is in office. But I do understand what you're saying. You're welcome to read my long reply to the other person who asked the same question in a much more polite way.

Yes. I do have a basis for comparison, and I'm happy to provide my thinking.

Biden is currently supporting a genocide in Palestine and a bombing campaign in Yemen. There is a strong islamophobic slant in the current cabinet.

Biden is a career politician. He knows precisely what he needs to publicize and what he needs to bury. He also generally has more social capital in government.

Trump is a racist and a fascist, but most people in government also think he's a fucking moron. He also literally cannot keep a single thing a secret. He also would likely support the same genocide and bombing campaign that Biden is currently enacting.

Trump is worse in the sense that his beliefs and followers hold a collective single braincell, and that braincell is focused on being racist and generally bigoted. But with that said, there is no real way that he can remove the term limit for the presidency. It's just not really within his power.

Biden is worse in the sense that he has spent an entire career smoothly enacting imperialist policies, some of which were also pretty racist and bigoted. But he also knows what to say and what to do to make people forget about them, not to mention that both of them are old as fuck and show signs of actual senility.

Ultimately I guess Biden is less terrifying for us in the United States, but unfortunately this election doesn't just affect the United States.

I guess it's easy for people to forget about the cost of removing our troops in Afghanistan the way that we did, and how we judge Obama so harshly for the drone strikes that Biden is doing now in larger numbers.

I do want to say that Biden has done some good things. The student loan forgiveness is not at the level that was promised during his previous campaign, but it is relieving the financial burden for many people. He also stopped the construction of the keystone pipeline which is obviously a win for climate change activists all over. And yes, he did remove the troops from Afghanistan which needed to happen twenty+ years ago, even if maybe it could have been done in a better way so as to not leave a huge power vacuum. But trump also did a few good things in his presidency.

His tax tariffs were very effective, the COVID support plan and operation light speed were both very effective and helped millions of Americans through a pandemic. He also accidentally bolstered the strength and support of Obamacare. Not really his intention, but I still consider it a positive.

I want to clarify that I am a leftist, I do not in any way support trump. I will not be voting for trump at all. My reason for thinking through all of this is to say whether I want Biden to win at all, or if I will just vote on everything but the president.

I'm getting so many messages from people about how immature and impractical it is to be wary of voting for Biden just because he isn't trump, it's absurd.

Biden is probably as bad as trump in very different ways, but dipshit liberals would have you believe that it is your patriotic duty to vote with them, otherwise you give a vote to trump when you refuse to vote.

With that being said, please vote in your local elections and for pretty much everything else. As liberals seem to forget, the president is mostly just a figurehead, but your senators, representatives, congressmen, etc mean much more and affect your life more significantly.

A few months ago, I posted here asking about a small footprint synth to replace some of my gear, mostly because of my small apartment. However, a few weeks ago I said "fuck that" and created a very small synth studio in one of my closets, precariously perched upon packages and packing supplies. I then purchased a microfreak.

I gotta say, I really should have bought this thing sooner. It's been such a blast making patches and messing with the many oscillator types, toying with the matrix in whatever way I can figure out, and the touch sensitive keys with aftertouch are such a game changer.

I got it for what I feel to be a steal at 300 bucks from a local synth shop in my city, and it's just so worth it.

Lately, I've been using it in conjunction with the liven xfm, and I think the pairing is quite nice. Maybe a bit lo-fi, but who doesn't love a bit of crunch on the drums and bass?

Long live arturia! I am now a fan.

I recently moved into a smaller apartment, and I currently do not have room for my usual hardware setup (model:samples, liven xfm, volca sample 2)

Because of this, I'm trying to figure out if there's a decent groovebox that I could get to take over for all of my current boxes?

Right now I'm really digging the look of the mc101. Sampling, resampling, editing patches and sound design with zencore all sound great. I'd love to be able to use samples and occasionally create or edit custom synth patches.

Anyways, do y'all think the mc101 is a good pick? Is there another synth/groovebox that would do this for me?

Thanks for reading, I appreciate your time!
