A broken rocket can easily change direction and did, as the video of the blast showed. The direction of the crater doesn’t necessarily indicate the direction of the rocket.

What you saw was a lingering desperate attempt to show that Hamas and PIJ are good guys.
I’m hoping for a new iPhone mini announcement…
Was it also a misquote when Hamas said it was an Israeli airstrike?

It did, it showed the rocket fail, break apart, and tumble. Plus:
We know the timing: immediately before the blast PIJ launched a rocket barrage towards Israel
We know the damage: the crater was small and besides the burned cars the physical damage was pretty superficial. The building had some broken windows but was nowhere near leveled. This is consistent with the strength of PIJ rockets, not Israeli missiles
We know the most obvious damage was from fire (the burned-out cars). This is consistent with a rocket that was just starting its journey and still full of fuel, not a missile that was at the end.
We know that Palestinian rockets fail a lot.
We know that the iron dome doesn’t operate over Gaza; there simply isn’t time to target and reach a rocket so soon after it launches.
We know that Hamas has said the physical evidence has simply vaporized. Ok…
And we KNOW what unjustified Israel attacks look like, like the refugee camp strike. There’s plenty to blame them for.
