this means nothing to me

Not planning on going back. I very much prefer open software. Funny that if none of this API nonsense happened I might have never heard of lemmy. Glad to be here.

My only hope is that some more of the communities I enjoyed on Reddit move here, in some fashion.

A lot of subreddits that have been said I'll also miss, but for me personally I'll miss the Math based subreddits I used to follow the most. r/badmath was a particular fav. I don't have many "math people" in my friend group so it was nice to have a place to chat about differnet math topics and learn. But hey, I'm sure with time we can expect a lot of those subreddits to find a home elsewhere. Hopefully here. I like it a lot so far!

Haven't heard this tune in a long time. Still hits.

Not sure if you typically browse on mobile and have an Android, by I'm using an app called Jerboa that has a very similar feel to some of the 3rd party Reddit apps. So far, so good 👍

Goes without saying the CEO really fucked this whole situation. I never would have sought out an alternative to Reddit if he hadn't decided to start all this API nonsense. But hey, in a way I'm glad he did. I never would have found lemmy otherwise. As a fan of open source material myself, I'd rather be here anyway.

Never commented much on Reddit, but I plan to be active here as much as possible. I want to see this community grow!
