Maybe it's all being captured in "fucking hell" ;)

Ah yep - they'd be counted separately. If people refer to him as just "O" as well, it might be getting filtered out with the junk words.

I think it's also affected by the way we refer to particular players - declan and rice appear separately and similar sized but I would guess people refer to either declan or rice. Maybe I can account for this somehow, and count players as a single word regardless of how they're referred to. Kai would probably be the biggest by far if Havertz was counted together. Whereas saka and raya are going to be pretty accurate reflections of how frequent. I will consider ways to handle this at the weekends game!

Coincidentally, also my reaction every time we score!

I personally hope we don't make the move permanent, and Ramsdale is back starting next season better than ever.

You better not have jinxed it

I'm surprised the refs rating is so high. How many times did we see Xhaka given a yellow for his first challenge for a buildup of offences across the team? Felt like Barkley alone committed 10 fouls on our wingers by half time.

I felt like the back line wasn't super cohesive. To be expected though, with Ben starting for the first time in 5 games and Kiwior without much game time at all. I blame Raya for conceding two relatively shitty goals, but I also think the backs could've done more to help him out.

I've been trying to find a fun little coding project to help me learn, and I remembered the word clouds sometime used to do on the old /gunners for the match threads. After a few hours getting setup tonight I've got a python script that takes a Lemmy instance, a post id and the number of comments and creates a word cloud.

Hopefully tomorrow night I get the chance to finish it. I need to make it pretty, and finalise the list of pointless words that can be excluded.

I think the most common words from the Luton game will be Kai and Raya lol.

I made a separate comment, but yes I think it's more of a respectful "I wish he played for us instead" and not hate in the literal sense.

Gotta agree with patchy eyes on this one - I think you might be reading into it a bit too far (understandable given the Bale incident). The Bale incident was different to me as it was actually targeted, disparaging to a club that he had just signed for and a really specific insult to a currently active player.

Making a comment like that about Rice is the opposite, not even banter but actually a sign of respect. The implication is "I wish he was playing on my team, and not my team's biggest rival".
