Yeah that's what I did for the first one. Turned it on the easiest difficulty so they couldn't power creep me, and just played the main quest for the most part.

Lol, well, selfishly I'm glad your priorities are where they are. You gonna try and take over the defunct Playstation community?

I'm with you. I've watched Reddit pull a LOT of bullshit over the years, and this is heinous enough that I'm done. I'll keep my account because there are some very niche subs that can provide help with certain things, so I want to be able to search or post to them as needed. But Lemmy really has my attention now.

You're talking about limited time and you're playing Forbidden West?? Haha, I'm struggling to play it. I don't have the same patience for open world as I once did.

Yeah, it's fucking nuts. Tomorrow and Monday will be very interesting. Then we'll see what Reddit looks like on July 1st, August 1st, and September 1st when all them API bills are due lol. I'm really enjoying my time here though, so I'm done no matter what.

Dope, hope you love it as much as I did! At the very least, it is visually stunning.

It's been a while since I beat it, but maybe like 10 hours. Not especially long. If you have it, you can get a sense of what the game is like in the first 30 minutes to an hour. There's a great moment in like the 3rd or 4th "memory" that would be a good place to play to and then decide if you want to invest more time.

Oh man, I've not heard of this one. I know Gone Home, but I never played it so I may have to finally check that out too. I love a game that drops you into the unknown and makes you figure out what's happening. You might like Ether One if you haven't played it already.

Oooh, that's a good one. I already beat it, but that game was so good. I would call it an Adventure, but I don't know how others would place it. It feels like Adventure games is a tough genre to nail down these days. I was talking with Roberta Williams on discord after they released the Colossal Cave remake, and she was really struggling to understand what "Adventure game" even means after it has been years since their last game. A group of us could not get to a consensus lol

Some mods are posting on Tildes and it sounds like they don't think Reddit will be able to just replace them all. Apparently the mods have more institutional knowledge than the admins at this point, and replacing them with less knowledgeable and less passionate mods is going to have a significant impact on the quality of the content. Dunno how long Reddit needs to keep up appearances before they go public though, so maybe Reddit thinks they can still win out and get investors before it implodes.

I've actually been wondering if I should pick this up. Does it still hold up after all these years? How long did it take you to beat it? I don't have the same patience for games I did when I was younger lol

I just wish Playstation would fucking release drivers for PC. I can't justify buying a headset that only works with one console. I know it's a cheap headset for its feature set, but I don't make a ton of money and need as much longevity out of my tech as possible.
