Retailers wouldn't be happy because a lot less people would buy physical copies. At least, that's how it started, not so sure how well that would hold up today.
Looking around it looks like yeah, in the US at least. Not all the way up to space though.
How does peertube work exactly? Because if it hosts the video on just the one "instance" or server or whatever a viral video will almost certainly have it's legs cut from under it very quickly. Don't get me wrong I want YouTube to have viable competition but videos are huge.

Yeah basically. Top mod lost permissions and a lower mod was elevated, sub reopened.
I don't expect anything to change at reddit and I don't need it to. All I need is for the shitshow to bring kbin/Lemmy up to an amount of users where they keep some form of forward momentum when this is over. If that happens, reddit's death certificate is signed, just for a future date.
