I agree that is not the worst, but jesus, it's like watching an imperial destroyer sinking in a lake of tar

Putting aside world inequality and the grim future that awaits us for a sec, medical science keeps moving forward... It took us 13 years to even sequence all the human genome (which was a tremendous effort done by many universities and researchers). Predicting the structures of proteins was an immense problem in biology that was finally solved with AI like 2~ years ago. mRNA vaccines were a super theoretical thing many years ago, but served us to fight covid. There's a growing number of scientists (like david sinclair) that aren't afraid of openly taking immortality as an academical challenge and publish research without fear of mockery

People forget technological progress is driven by an exponential growth, seeing all the things we have discovered in the past decades I can't help but be optimistic about treatments or medicines available for the general public that slow down aging

How does this compare with stable diffusion XL?

That's a very good point I had never though before

This reminds me of a time when the blender fund was opened and at some point a bunch of companies jumped to donate money (steam, epic, google, AMD...) this was way back when 2.8 was getting in shape. Years later we saw the fruits of that labor with the 3.x series bringing nice improvements and refactors that were done over the course of many months and years

We probably won't see a huge push in godot's quality in what's left of this year, but maybe in 2024 and later

I find it ironical when a huge company diverts efforts into aggressive marketing instead of improving the product itself, it feels like a loss-loss

I don't want to be a fanboy, but I'm still hopeful that eventually we have enough accessible computing power (individually) such that the self-driving car can be trained end-to-end with "easily" 🤞🏻

Do you guys think linux will ever win over time? I see hate towards ubuntu every now and then but I think of it as the most "idiot-proof" distro (maybe I'm wrong)

Really apple? And they did all that mother nature bullshit with octavia spencer while it was europe who forced them to use a universal connector and stop polluting the world with useless pathetic cables

The fact that this post got so many upvotes in c/lemmyshitpost says a lot about this community 👀

I'm confused, is this a strategy meant to persuade people to keep using the lightning cable bullshit?
