TIL. I'll edit my post. In my language they use the more "informal" word to refer to themselves, I had no clue, thank you for the information

The jews died The most in absolute numbers but actually if I remember correctly the romani had it worse in %. What is kind of ironic as I lived a year in Europe and I'm pretty sure a lot of Europeans would approve a romani holocaust nowadays

I think it's funny whenever someone says things like this. From what I see, and correct me if I'm wrong, the US has a one party and one tendency the split in two colors to pretend they are a democracy. I see more disagreements in ANY congress of ANY ML party anywhere around the world than I see between democrats and Republicans. Damn, the all-authoritarian see see peas for sure have at least a hundred times more diversity internally than they will ever have. So is not a option for any party to side with the workers, they all dance for the same masters.

Okay, I'm a Brazilian atheis but let me give u some trivia about Brazilian catholic church and the liberation theology.

The Brazilian catholic church backed the military coup in Brazil in 1964 but a lot of their members were actually left wing and a lot were communists. One of the most famous was the bishop Dom Helder Camara. He once said something like "if I give bread to the poor they call me saint, if I ask why they don't have bread they call me communist".

The first UNE(National students union) congress after they were banned was held in a church's basement and was heavily supported by local priests. UNE was banned because it was heavily dominated by a lot of communist parties and tendencies as well as other left wing parties. Most of the best, and worst, left wing politicians we have were in UNE in the 70s and 80s.

That being said, this monument is easily the most recognizable we have right now so I totally understand the choice.

It really scares me that western propaganda is so powerful they are willing to let us all die as long as they feel they are on the "right" side....

There're two things I would like to point here to show u how stupid u liberals are.

First: you guys are so concerned about being on the moral high ground that u just can't be pragmatic. You would easily start a nuclear war and feel good about it because the other side has a government u don't agree with.

Second: you guys point fingers to Russia but would be the first to agree with nuking Iraq or another country occupied by the US the moment any of them did as much as shot a couple of American civilians in American ground, let alone drone attacks...

I don't have Spanish as my first language but my first language is pretty related to Spanish and s also gendered and I personally hate all those alternatives. The @ and the X thing can't be read by screen readers so these options aren't inclusive at all, also this is pretty confusing for dyslexic people...

I personally think this is a case where people just have to understand that grammatical gender is not the same as social gender, even words like milk and chair are grammatically gendered, so don't make sense to Try to say there's any hidden message using the masculine or feminine form of the words...
